The Sunday, March 29th season five finale of The Walking Dead will be extended to 90 minutes in length.

So glad to see that they're finally reinstating extended episodes!

I think it's a little early for them to introduce Negan just yet. However, it would not surprise me if they skimmed through most of the "Too Far Gone" volume and dived straight into "No Way Out" for the last few episodes, ending with the herd.

Douglas makes Rick the leader of Alexandria.

Carol and Daryl decide to begin a relationship with each other.

Sasha learns to let go of her demons.

Carl finally makes a friend his age.

Glenn and Maggie officially become runners for the community.

Background for Olivia, Heath, Denise, Nicholas, Aaron, Eric.

Tobin and Bruce being douchey, and Abraham showing them up.

Eugene admitting to Rosita that he loves her.

Michonne hangs her katana on the wall.

Rick murders Pete to protect Jessie and Ron.

No Way Out

Derek and the D.C. Scavenger show up at Alexandria's gates demanding entry and supply, make threats.

Rick takes charge of the community and has his group murder the shit out of Derek.

Nicholas and some of the others grow wary of Rick's methods.

In-group quarreling.

Douglas appoints Rick leader of Alexandria for how he handled the Scavengers.

Heath or Glenn arrive from an inner-city run and proclaims that a herd is on its way.

Minor preparations. Everyone thinks Alexandria can handle a herd.

The herd arrives and the community is quickly overwhelmed. Rick demands that everyone barricade themselves in their homes for protection. Walkers break into the community and tear apart houses, kill minor characters.

Gabriel locks everyone out of the church. Eugene and some others bang on the doors, eventually convincing Gabriel to let them in just before the Walkers get them. Eugene forces Gabriel to go out and help him fight.

Others see Eugene & co. and do the same. They realize that if everyone manages to take out just 5-10 Walkers, then they can have the place cleared out without more damage down.

A central wall falls. More Walkers pour in. Just as all seems lost, someone barges in from behind the Walkers, clearing them with little ease. We, the audience, realize that the masked hero is Morgan in costume.

Thinking the person to be another Scavenger, he is shot by one of Rick's men (maybe Abe?) Morgan's rushed to the infirmary.

Rick sacrifices Jessie and Ron to save Carl and Judith.

Carl gets shot by Douglas as he goes down. Carl loses his eye. Rick rushes him to the infirmary. He recognizes the man already laying there. Cliffhanger.

Noah, Sasha and Tara are up for potential deaths.

I think it will either be something unique o the show or something to do with the Scavengers (Possibly renamed The Wolves) and or the heard entering Alexandria.

 

It's been 3 season since our last 90 minute episode and so excited we're getting another one. I won't predict deaths until after the second to last episode so we can be introduced to new characters.

Agree with Etphoto it may be extended to 90 minutes but we are going to get so many more commercials.  However, I'll be happy for the extra 10 minutes of time and I hope that we don't have to rely on TD to get us info that should be included in the finale due to the extra time..

Give it up with the commercials complaints people. TWD has just as many commercials as any other 1-hour drama does. 90 minutes means about 21-22 extra minutes of show and 8-9 more minutes of commercials. I guarantee that if you time the actual show it will be about 65 minutes.

 

Oh yeah. Newsflash! It's 2015. Get a damn DVR already.

That's not true, actually. Season 4 is the only season that ended with a cliffhanger. There are of course cliff hangers episode to episode, and the season 3 mid-season finale was a cliff hanger.

 

That said, that makes Gimple as the only show runner to end a season on a cliff hanger, so it can't be ruled out for season 5.

Nah - you only have to wait 20 minutes or so, and then you can start watching and fast forward the commercials
