It definitely has more impact this way. I don't remember such a long pause between his initial line (and the music didn't pack the right punch) and the final line. The pause seemed a bit too over dramatic. Now, I have to re-watch the finale to see if there was such a long pause.

Vince Gilligan once said that AMC allowed them one 'fuck' every season of Breaking Bad, so I assume The Walking Dead would also get the same treatment.
