I just don't find Maggie very feminine but that's what I like about her. To me she's like Alice out of Resident Evil - a total ass-kicker.
Michonne enjoys the same esteem as Maggie as an equal with the men as a fighter but to me Michonne's a far more feminine character. Just how it strikes me, that's all.
Interesting that you find Daryl asexual. I can totally see that even though I never thought of it before. He seems untouchable. Hope he gets to maintain his status as a lone wolf - it's a powerful image.
I have to disagree, though it's an interesting way to look at her. Back in season2 she had very feminine clothes and seemed to love the simple lifestyle of being a farmer. By 3 of course she was hardened, but she has shown multiple times she would rather have a life where she can settle down and share a life with Glenn rather than simply fighting all the time. Scenes where she held onto Judith to overcome her experience with the Governor and planning for a family at the beginning of 4. Of course when the time calls for it she's up and ready to fight, but I think she's more dimensional than just a plain badass.
I would also like to add that she does seem to love fighting and thrives on it. Just look at her in Seed. Pretty enthusiastic when she managed to take down those guard zombies, not to mention the various times she has been seen since fighting zombies. I can see where you are coming from, but I think it makes a nice contrast to her desire for a more normal life. It's her "night out" so to speak. She lets herself go when she's fighting.
Of course it's my interpretation of him, but I just can't see him see with anybody. Carol is the closest candidate considering their background, but after both left the group temporary neither had a thought for each other. The Daryl/Beth I don't consider because I don't find either of them remotely compatible and were likely to destroy each other (as evidenced by their drinking game).
