Enough, please enjoy. Yes, it is something that I plan on a future chapter (volume 3).
Caught In A Christmas Bind
A Poem of a Future Chapter.
by Dead Cave
For it was that cold Christmas eve night
That we walked that hellish forest together
Trees frozen in place, snow deep as our knees
The dead frozen in place, struggling to break free.
Through the thick copse we struggled onward
Our remaining load, weighing heavily on our backs
Between the thickness of the trees standing together
The dead stand and complicate the maze.
Our weapons, nearly empty and our strength about gone
Struggling through the complexity hoping to beat the dawn.
The dead, some stand patiently and others fighting to break out
Dawn’s light will end their struggle with sun’s warm rays.
Wanting it to end, wanting to go on.
Fatigue hammers at us as we push on through.
The dead, frozen where they are
To remind us the danger is always there.
Soon a clearing is ahead, the moon’s light showing clearly upon the fields
Our destination is close, safety is near
The dead, think nothing of our thoughts and fears
Only interested in satisfaction of the insatiable.
We turn from our westward heading to see the dawn
Christmas morning, we’re alive to see it once more.
Our only presents is our lives
But that is satisfactorily enough for the time being.
We kiss to warm ourselves in the rising sun
Ignoring the dead horde that threaten our fun.
We wished each other and the dead
A Merry Christmas and Good Will To All.
