I think Judith died for the same reason Herschel died...we are going on the road and babies and one legged men challenge the plot in ways the lazy writers choose not to deal with.

When Lizzy and the kids were originally carrying Judith, they went back inside (I think??) for guns. Judith's carrier was found outside. These kids can be idiots, but they wouldn't leave the baby outside with no protection.

I think someone was originally carrying the carrier, dropped it (with blood on there hands, showing the blood on the seat) and took Judith and ran. Again, I think it could be Carol, since she saw the prison under attack (I mean, who can't hear a tank?) and she may have saved her.

More than likely, arthritis granny went back to fight and found Judith, now they are living on their own.

"The fourth and saddest death was Judith’s. Rick’s infant daughter was lost in the chaos at the prison and it wasn’t until the walls had finished crumbling and most of the Governor’s camp was dead that Rick and Carl discovered her bloodied car seat. Rick doubles over in pain and Carl shoots wildly at a walker before he runs out of ammo and breaks down sobbing. ‘Lil Ass-Kicker’s’ death is painful, but it brings us to the last—and perhaps best—thing to come out of this episode: Rick and his group finally leave the prison."

Interesting stroy but I'd be surprised if they know more than anyone else and were able to release it. The very obvious 'silence' from Kirkman about her last night when Hardwick brought the topic up definitely leaves the option for her survival up.

I would hate to find out she died... It might be more of the fact that she is a baby and its saddening. After watching the talking dead, when she wasn't mentioned in the 'in memory' thing that they do gives me a little hope that she is alive.

If Judith is alive I will be immensely disappointed. You don't throw that big of a emotional sucker punch and give the main characters a major reason for character development if you're just going to have a cop out and have the baby be ok. The baby's death was the epitome of hopelessness in the book and it led to some great character development for Rick and Carl both. If the show chickens out and has it where the baby is ok, then it will be a massive disappointment for me.

Spoiler for comics:

Spoiler

Rick has already visited crazytown and Carl almost was on the dark side of taking a path that would lead him to be Gov Jr with his apathy towards others. They have already changed a lot to come to this point they are at. I don't see what how further grief could develop them more without having them take a couple steps backwards. We have already seen Rick go through the ringer and Carl act out.

Honestly it could go either way at this point. We had Carol missing for 1-2 episodes last season with her all but pronounced dead only for Daryl to find/save her. Unless we see a body or a walker swarming around remains then there is still a chance that the baby is alive. They have already pulled this with Carol so I wont be surprised if it happens again. Although I don't think Judith's death adds much to the story right now. Sure it puts a heavy load of grief unto the characters but right now their main concern is regrouping and surviving, there is no time to properly grieve Judith even if she is dead.

If she is infact dead I would be quite disappointed. I think if they have killed Judith they should have addressed it made it clear. It's sort of up in the air in the moment.

So hopefully she is still alive

How can you think that the baby is still alive when it's obviously dead. It's not like suddenly the baby is taken out of his basket and someone splashes blood all over the basket to confuse the viewers. Judith is dead! There is nothing that can explain the blood except for biters eating her away completely.

When they carried her out, she was buckled in the seat. When they found the seat it was COMPLETELY unbuckled. She is alive.

They also DIDN'T show Michonne leaving the prison when they showed EVERYONE ELSE leaving. .Why? Because she has the baby and they don't want us to know it.

Last night, I was pretty certain she's dead, but now that I think about it and read the poll options ... I like the Michonne idea. Just because the kids went back for her doesn't mean they got her - Michonne could have already picked her up (although I'd have to watch it again to get the timing of everything). But, yeah, I suspect she's alive.

I reckon she's dead. The only question I have is why would a walker eat Judith's clothes too? I know when Lori was eaten, her clothes were consumed too, but it makes no sense... no, she's probably alive...

Not to derail but I also thought it was odd that Michonne left Rick by himself after he pretty much got the mess beat out of him by the Gov. He was in no condition to be alone on his feet and I thought Michonne would stick close to him but the next scene showed him running off looking for Carl on his own.

Would make sense then if Michonne did have the baby. I think its more likely Lizze knew they couldn't fight back and protect the baby at the same time so they hid it somewhere safe and Michonne discovered it. I voted that the baby was on the bus but it would make more sense if she was either with Tyreese and the kids or Michonne.

The bloody carseat that T-dog saw looked like a child had been eaten while still strapped in. Judith's carseat did not look that bloody, to me it appeared as though someone with bloody hands removed her from her carseat. I don't think Judith or any of the other kids made it onto the bus. I presume Judith is either dead but AMC didn't want to make the carseat look too bloody, or was taken out of the carseat by one of the girls that were carrying her. I hope an adult found the girls and Judith and led them to safety but if they are taking the route they did in the comic,

In a way, but I want Judy to be dead because of Andrew Lincoln's and Chandler Rigg's scene when they discover the bloody car seat. That was a very emotional scene for the actors and for me.

If Judy is saved by Michonne, Ty, Lizzie, or Maggie, it would completely negate that moment.

I really hope they both get nominated for an award.

Also, AMC did have T-Dog view a bloody car seat in season 2. Think it was the pilot episode when the group were stuck on the highway and everyone was looking in cars for supplies. T opens a car door and sees a very bloody, and empty, car seat which seriously disturbs him. I don't put it past AMC to have this be the end of Judy. I know I don't want to see an infant's corpse.

Remember the crying blonde lady who carried her child out of the prison after walker Patrick attacked the cell block? The body was covered with a blanket. I don't think it's forbidden to show a dead child, but it would seem very... pornographic, in a way.

It's so hard to tell. I mean, a walker couldn't unsnap a car seat latch and the chest strap part. I know some adults who can't even manage it (non parents of course lol).

That said, there was a lot of blood in that car seat. A lot. I just re-watched it and there seemed to be a lot more blood than if someone just had bloody hands. It was nearly pooled at the bottom of the seat. If someone did take her out, then they were already dying from blood loss and wouldn't have made it very far with her. Maybe that's what happened in the end. I'll buy that over her being eaten whole bones and all like we were supposed to buy with Lori.

Sorry, but the TV show writers did not want to deal with either things. Posting comic spoilers does not prove your point. We saw very few of the daily struggles either would have caused to a group on the run. To me, the writers are ham fisted with their points and lack creativity. The show would lose major audience if a well written zombie show was presented, like TWD PILOT.

Both are dead and someone still has a hand because anything else is a pita.

They never showed her in the talking dead memorial thing. They would have at least showed something. Kirkman ignored the question about her.....the buckles are undone.. All signs prove she's alive except for the blood in the seat.....the two smaller kids also ran before lizz killed alisha, I figure they were getting Judith after they helped ty....also why are the walkers dragging loris body and judiths body when they never drag a body. Also most of the people were fighting in that general direction.

The kids were the closest. I just don't see a zombie unbuckle a car seat taking bites of a baby then pull the baby out take it around the corner and finish chowing down. If so then That's stupid.

I was watching little Judith when the girls were carrying the car-seat out (because one of them could barely hold it up and she was bouncing all over the place). The blood was definitely not there in that scene.
