Thanks for listening guys!!

As far as my audio issue goes, there was a difference in the quality of the 1st and 2nd episode, so we thought that I neglected to select my table mic, and that it recorded using my computer mic. After hearing this 3rd episode, I realized that definitely wasn't the case. Jason and I have been doing test recordings to try and figure it out, and we think it just might be that I was a tad further away from the mic these last couple times. I apologize that my audio is not as clear as it could be, and I hope it doesn't distract too much from the segment. This is all new to me, so I'm trying to work out the kinks. Thanks for your patience and feedback. :)

While there is a difference with the mics, I get use to it after a few seconds!

Nice Gwendolyn avatar btw. When she appeared in Saga, I got a Michonne vibe from her.

Glad to hear it.

Thanks, I love Gwen. I don't get a Michonne vibe from her, but she's definitely awesome!

Is there going to be a podcast for 118 or do they only release podcasts while the TV show is airing?

Imagine a group of a hundred motorcycles driving down a freeway. Eventually, they hit a junction. One road goes northwest and the other goes northeast. So one guy, we'll call him S, says, "Let's go northwest!" A mile past the intersection, a semi careens into the group and kills ninety of them. Ten are wounded, but they survive and keep going. Eventually, they hit 10,000 miles. S suddenly has his consciousness thrown into his past body right before the junction. Now, he says, "Let's go northeast!" All 100 bikers survive. Happily ever after, right? But what about the ten, no nine, who went northwest and survived? What happens to the reality they were living? Does it just disappear now that S has changed the past? It's not like only bad things happened on that 10,000 mile journey. Maybe one of them fell in love with a gas station attendant and got her pregnant or maybe one adopted a homeless kid that joined the adventure. That 10,000 mile journey would be full of stories. Romances, farewells, friendships...the loss of those ninety lives is horrible and unfortunate, but what would rewriting their history mean? The nine who survived lived full lives and did the best they could with the hand they were dealt. How could it be right to just erase all that? Isn't that worth something? Is there a point to a world where everything is happy? Are people who struggle for a better life just idiots? Being human is about fighting even when it seems hopeless and finding happiness in a world that hates it. Are you saying that's worthless?

You will actually get it sooner in Dec and Jan.

Jason and Karen typically go to an every other week schedule, I believe, during the hiatus, and it happens to fall right in with the comic release schedule. They will record on Friday evenings (instead of Monday), so the podcast will be posted late that night or the next morning. So, just a few days after 118 and 119 are released. :)

If the Under the Comic Covers segment gets enough positive feedback, and people email in questions and whatnot, Jason has talked about possibly releasing it as its own separate episode. So, write in!!

Remember how dissed Dwight was when Negan was less than impressed that he made it back from the ASZ alive?

What I found interesting in this issue is that it takes back up the thread from the end of "A larger world" (Volume 16) about rebuilding civilization after the Zombie Apocalypse. I think this is quite exciting as it may foreshadow the direction the Walking Dead is taking as people get used to a world with zombies in them. We are seeing different communities that have come up with different answers. Obviously Rick's vision is quite different from that of Ezekiel's group. With the Saviors arc, I this theme has still been more in the background, but we saw in this issue that Negan also has a vision for the world (vile, abusive and unhinged though it may be).

Gregory is the only community 'leader' that doesn't really seem to have his own idea of how things should turn out, but I'll wager that he is not going to be in charge there much longer. He may be replaced by someone (Maggie? Sutton?) who will likely have their own vision of the future. Once the yoke of Negan's rule is (unavoidably) cast off, there will undoubtedly come a point of conflict between the groups concerning their way forward. This should be interesting.

Also, I assume that Gregory at some point played an important role in bringing his people to safety, but at this point he is no longer what his people need. Assuming that Rick survives long enough, there will unavoidable come a point at which he will no longer be what the group needs. Will he be able to recognize this and make room for the regime that comes after, or see himself become the villain?

Of course, for now there are more immediate concerns for everyone concerned! I still think that Rick would have hoped to turn the reasonable part of the Saviors group against Negan, but that's unlikely to work with Holly captured in his stead, and her doing (unknowingly) pretty much everything to f*ck things up, and I don't think Dwight has got what it takes to start an insurrection on his own. The Saviors know Negan, and by and large he has helped them to survive. There haven't been many signs that they are ready yet to break apart.

It will be interesting to see how things develop in the next issue!
