So far as getting scared, I'm thinking so many of us are just so jaded that we're unscarable. I find myself watching with such a critical eye towards the acting, writing and production values that it robs me of alot.

That said, there are some movies that do allow me to suspend my disbelief long enough to thoroughly enjoy them.

Also, anything that is more in the realm of possibility, like being trapped with someone who is mentally ill and violent is pretty scary. The other thing that does spook me is mirrors. Ever catch sight of yourself in a mirror, for instance in a store, and you are momentarily startled cuz you kinda sorta recognise that person but haven't yet computed that it's you? I get that feeling times 100 when I see a movie where the image in the mirror doesn't match the actual person. For instance, Black Swan, Below, - I kind of scare myself into thinking that someday my reflection might take on a life of its own.  Bwahahaha

Yeah stuff that *could* happen is more creepy to me than say 1000 alien vampires with suction cups for hands attack. Seven Days was that kinda movie. The way the main character captured his victim was a little hmmmmm but beyond that it was very real. Which made it all the more ominous.

I cant find any horror movies that dont look st00pid to watch that I have not seen. I know I couldnt have possibly seen them all.

Ok, some stupid American males and/or females travel to some hole in the wall country in Europe! On the way they meet....dum dum dum....a mysterious yet sexy stranger who convinces them to go to a party! Sounds like fun! But first they check into a hostel full of creepy people and unusual crap going on all over the place! At the party they meet more sexy strangers gender dependent on their gender and engage in some type of hanky panky! Insert mandatory boob shot here! Ok, as it turns out the sexy strangers are in cahoots with the killing club people! As a matter of fact, most of the country is in cahoots with the killing club people! GORE GORE GORE GORE GORE GORE roll credits!

Am I in the ball park or what? Sorry for spoiling

And don't get me wrong I like the Hostels. Good old school torture horror.

You can watch Kill List not a horror but more gore then most horrors anyways actually some pretty amazing special effects in it.Sadly that trailer makes it seem tame when it's anything but.

You're right it is weird... [spoilers]didn't make any sense because no reason was given for the murders then goes out on the boat, girl drinks poison when she could've drank it at home? HUH? The thing with the trunk, unlocking it but not removing the items on top of it so can open it... HUH? and that mystery with the baby.[/spoilers]  
It just seems like a short little film of someone's nightmare or twisted fantasy... I dunno. Couldn't make heads or tails out of it.

Has anyone here seen Seed? The beginning intro was really...weird. It showed animals being skinned and this one dog being stomped on, rest of the movie sucked anyways.


Or has anyone seen Cannibal Holocaust? I heard it was a snuff film, but when I looked it up the actors weren't really killed they just signed a contract saying they wouldn't be in public for a year to make the public believe they really died. In fact, the director got arrested because people thought he really did murder the actors. What I don't understand is that animals really did die in the movie (about seven or so) but he didn't get charged on that I think.
