Lets Revisit The Prison Wall

Ok so in Made to suffer we got a real good look at the prison wall that was destroyed. This is where Tyresse and his group entered the prison. Later it would cause all kinds of problems as walkers were entering the prison via this area. As well Glenn went to investigate it when the gov attacked.

I would think this would be a major priority for Rick to secure the prison before season 4.

First off how the hell did this happen? Looks like an explosion took place inside the prison and blasted debris outward.

And how do you fix this? Build a new wooden wall?

I wanted to know what some of the clever callbacks the writers put in to "reward" the fans when they reference an older episode

For example, Daryl correcting Merle and telling him Glenn's Korean
Rick telling Carl to cover his ears in the car (the tank in the pilot)
"I know how the safety works."

Ethernet Cable Was Symbolic

Lots of talk about symbolism during the hiatus. How about this...

When Rick was looking for wire to tie Michonne up I noticed he grabbed some Ethernet cable before changing his mind.

As you know Ethernet cable is used for networking/internet.

I think the writers choose Ethernet cable to symbolize the internet hate Michonne was receiving in the first half of season 3. I remember many negative comments early on about her failure to communicate, and sullen character portrayal.

By Rick choosing the Ethernet cable it showed that Michonne would be bound by the negative internet comments. However Rick changed his mind which was the writers way of saying they don't care about the internet comments and they would continue to write Michonne their own way.

What Were Rick's Intentions?

So I was recently re-reading volume 9, "Here We Remain" and I was wondering what exactly Rick was trying to do when he took the medicine. When I read through the comics the first few times, i didn't think much of it. I figured Rick's wound tore open or got infected or something, which is why Rick was in pain, he then took the medicine to help heal it and finally slipped into his litte mini coma because he was sick.

But then when I was reading the "Anatomy Of A Story" in The Walking Dead magazine issue 3 that covers volume 9, it describes Rick slumping into unconsciousness as, "Whether this is a half-hearted suicide attempt is left on the reader to decide." That really threw me off because I really wouldn't think Rick would be that selfish to try and kill himself, especially after Carl just lost his mom and if Rick did kill himself, Carl would have been forced to survive on his own, which is really against Rick's character in my opinon, even though he was going through a lot after just losing Lori and dealing with his guilt, I just don't think he would abandon Carl.

So like I was saying, I re-read the volume and when Rick is looking at the medicine cabinet, one of the panels shows him staring at it as if he is actually contemplating it or not. I don't think Rick would really try to kill himself, but I can't help but wonder what exactly he was thinking.

Any thoughts?

What if after Rick killed Shane, do you think Rick is subconsciously honoring Shane by doing things Shane's way? Like murdering Tomas on the spot & not trusting people ect.
