And also, the only real issue I have with crazy Rick is Lori's presence. I didn't like the character in life, so why the hell would I want to see her in death. Ugh. I'm not sure if it's in the comics, but if it is can we find a way around that. I want her to be erased from our memories.

Am I the only one who thought Daryl's return at the end seemed like something out of a superhero movie? I half expected Superman's theme to start playing when they flashed to his face.
Haha, I felt the same way during the moment when he came to the rescue to that family on the road.

Amazing, but Jesus seriously, Axel? They should have killed an already existing member of the group. Now that I think about it, Rick's group in terms of numbers is back to where they started the season with the exception of Michonne and Merle...
t-dog and lori are dead, so its exactly where they were

But to recap the episode:
1.It started off insanely slow.
2. I don't like the time being spent on the situation back at Woodberry. To me, it's not interesting as I'm rather interested in what's going on at the prison. The death of Axel would've been even more powerful, if we wouldn't have saw the Governor up until that point.
3. Glenn is totally in the right in the way he's acting. He was almost beaten to death, and thought his girl was raped. Him leaving by himself to attack Woodbury was stupid, but he was right about the Governors retaliation . Now, I don't understand why Maggie is angry.
4. The deaths are getting kind of predictable. Having read the comics, it's like we all know the ones who are going to die eventually, it's just when. When Axel died, it had no emotional impact for me, it was more of an about time feeling. I'm gonna go out and say the next major characters who dies next are Hershel and the baby somehow.
5. Ricks squad can't shoot for shit.
6. That look Rick gave at the end was honestly my favorite part of the episode. I'm about ready for him to release all that frustration upon the Governor.

but what kinda bothered me during the attack was, that that shooter on the guard tower shot at Beth and Carl.. they are still kids/teens and especially Carl is looking young so he had to see that through his sniper.. idk the Woodbury soldiers may find it okay to shoot at the "terrorists who attacked them" but shooting at a girl and a boy?
Also sad Axel had to go, i liked him the last couple of episodes.. i don't get why they spoiled his death in a promo though ^^

First off, everyone is just standing around in the yard like idiots... they KNOW the Guv is coming and whats the first thing they all decided to do? Stand in the open and hang out. Second, they were all standing in the middle of the yard but absolutely no one sees or hears the Guv and his men pull up in a truck? The Guv and his truck were right out in the open and Carol was even looking in his direction but absolutely no one saw him. Some random dude actually managed to get out of the truck, sneak all the way to the prison, get inside the gate and climb up to the top of the guard tower without being seen by anyone... really?
The Guv stands right out in the open for the entire gun fight and absolutely no one hits him even once. These characters hit consistent head shots, with pistols, from 100 feet away, at night, out of moving cars, but can't seem to hit a man in broad daylight standing in the open with automatic rifles. The whole stand off was just so stupid, and not for 1 second did I feel any character was in any danger at all. The show doesn't have that "no one is safe" feel like it should, the only characters they kill off are the redshirts.
But like I said, when the zombies attacked it actually got exciting and there was some suspense. Daryl's return was done well and Merle joining in to help Rick was cool. The last 5 minutes were great but the rest of the episode was horrid IMO.

Wow is all i can say did not see that coming and i defently did not see axels deaths.
Oh and what was with the whole tattoo on daryles back? Did i miss somthing about that or has it not been explained yet?
I think it was the whipping scars Merle was referring to
I didn't see the scars - I watch the last showing of the day at 11 Pacific, and it wasn't on AMC HD. Had to watch it on an analog channel. So, all I saw were the angel wing tattoos on his back. I assumed he meant that his dad made him get the tattoos. Hm.
One of the best episodes yet!
But one thing I'm confused on - was the van with the walkers part of Woodbury? The gov seemed surprised to see it.. or maybe he was gleefully happy to see it... I dunno...
but man what an episode... glad they seemed to do some character development then what an ending! Can't wait until next week!
I had trouble reading the Governor's expression, too. I thought the fun thing about the van was that I thought it was Daryl and Merle, and they were going to circle the van around to block the gate, and hop out. Fooled me.
I thought Michonne closed at least one of the gates behind him, though.
They could have easily cut the fence in some spot and crept in when Glenn was making his "plan" to get into Woodbury. No one was on watch, remember? Rick was off looking for his buddy Shane.
But Michonne probably doesn't have a key, so she wouldn't lock it. I'm hoping the keys Rick used are not the only ones.
Huh, so, instead of token black guys getting killed, we chased off Tyreese, and have token rednecks instead?! Can't have two in the group, so we had to off Axel ... ?Wow, LOVED IT!!! Great balance between story and action, truly left me gasping for more. Actually liked Merle there for a while (can't believe I said that). RIP Axel. Going to go back and see it again. Voted this episode excellent.
Fun episode, though. Axel's death shocked me. I wonder why the Governor didn't kill him with a torso shot, so he'd re-animate.
Andrea ... meh, I dunno.
Melissa Ponzio got credited again - is that who you're all referring to as the driver of the van?

Rick!! Come back from crazy town! It's bad for your health! I feel so uneasy with him at this state.
Seeing Lori again melted my heart a little for Rick. She was a main character from the beginning so it was interesting to see that glimpse of her character after all these months of her gone.
Daryl and Merle. Good scenes between them. Will Meryl join Team Prison and rub it in the Governor's eye socket?! I'll be waiting for that eye contact in the fight scene.
Maggie, yous a trooper.
What I couldn't wait for no longer is Andrea reuniting with the group. Yesss she's finally going to interact with them again this next episode; or so it seems in the teaser. After her being so closely tied to the Governor and all, makes for a good storyline. I'm dying to hear what they'll be conversing about. And her seeing Michonne again. Wooot.
Poor Axle.. did NOT see that shot coming. Well.. we're running out of expendable characters. Where the freakin freck are Tyrese and his peeps?
Fight scene was intense! Bullets just flying everywhere screaming, "We should be in walkers' brains you idiots!". So many shots fired for no reason.
When the walker van started coming, I thought that was the sound of Glen and his truck. I was relieved it wasn't. I pictured him slowely arriving and coming to a stop and it just be AWKWARD.
That van was a mean strategy. Gates are down. Here comes walkers!

I guess Maggie was taking care of Judith up until she heard the shots being fired. She knew Rick and Glenn were not at the prison and she needed to help. Im sure Judith is safe and sound sleeping inside a properly locked cell where nobody (dead or alive) can harm her..My big question (that I'm surprised no one else has brought up in this thread yet): Carol, Maggie and Beth are all outside now, so who's watching Judith??
When the walker van started coming, I thought that was the sound of Glen and his truck. I was relieved it wasn't. I pictured him slowely arriving and coming to a stop and it just be AWKWARD.
Me too! When I saw that the governor seemed surprise to hear a car approaching I was thinking that was Glenn and he is going to get shot. But then we get to see the van and I was happy it wasn't him.

Also, I totally get why maggie is miffed with Glen. I would be, too.

On The Talking Dead Robert Kirkman said Tyrese and his group left and we don't know where they went or when we will see them again.
I hope Rick doesn't see Lori anymore, we all know he is bat-shit crazy, he needs to go take a long rest. The promo for new week's episode shows Carl telling/asking Rick if maybe somebody else should be in charge.
I was thinking the person in the guard tower could have been the driver of the Zombie Transport van, I need to watch this episode again today, I don't think the person was dressed the same.I don't think Milton was driving that van though, he is such a wussy he would have crapped his pants on such a mission.
We all know The Gov is well, The Mayor of Crazytown, he wanted to show how fearless he is and hammer in a point of how vulnerable the Prison is. He is playing with the Prison group like they are rats trapped in a cage.
I really think a stealth mission to Woodbury to assassinate him is their best chance. I seriously doubt there would be any repercussions form the residents.
Crazy has come to town for a visit!!

I'm kinda hoping Daryl gets it next episode. That would be interesting.
Idea for a poll question:
Who's more freakishly obsessed?
A. Daryl Dixon fan girls
B. The "Daryl Must Die" cult
