You've gotta wonder if her hand on his arm will stop him from delivering a lethal blow to her friend. On the other hand, she might be thrown in the pit with Daryl and Merle if she objects too strongly. Will Andrea show fight or finesse? I hope the writers take off her blinders when the season resumes.

He "loves" Andrea... Which is why his charcter has been ruined. The writers really fucked the Gov up for that. How I'm I suppose to believe that he's this "big bad wolf" if he's falling in love, having sympathy, not raping people, and honestly caring just a little too much. Too little to late for him now. Dead by Andrea!! God my hate for her is tremendous now.
I don't agree. I think he would turn on her in a second, so that's not love. The Guv's true love is power. His ego and being the saviour of Woodbury is much more important to him than Andrea.

Agreed. Though from what I've glimpsed in the comics the TV guv isn't as "evil" as the comic guv. Seems the tv writers are doing a slow build up to his malevolence and that can get boring quite quickly if not done right. Sure we've glimpsed his madness via the aquarium tv's and keeping his "poor sick but possibly could be cured" daughter locked up and in chains... but evil... no, we have seen evil (Ledger's portrayal of the Joker screams out "I'm evil to the core" for example or even better, Eckhart's as Harvey Dent and his descent into madness/evil was done with frightening quickness, especially after a little chat with the aforementioned Joker).I don't agree. I think he would turn on her in a second, so that's not love. The Guv's true love is power. His ego and being the saviour of Woodbury is much more important to him than Andrea.
It's a good role but scary it's not.
So does he love Andrea? Nah, she's a piece of ass to him and he'll play affectionate and lovey dovey with her just so she'll keep being that piece of ass. But once she decides who's side she really wants to be on then he'll kick her out of bed just as quickly.

This is supposed to be taking place before The Governor was introduced in the comics, so the first half of the season was uncharted territory. You don't exactly have the right to say that it isn't in character because it's just a part of it that, up until this point, hadn't been discovered. In the book, Rise of the Governor,

Lol him killing innocent people, sending Merle to kill michonne, and giving the order to kill Glenn and maggie isn't evil enough? Give me a break. As for him "loving" Andrea that's a tough one to call. I think he likes the idea of manipulating her into his queen.
Lol, that's why I think it's funny when people try to explore the idea that maybe the governer and Merle aren't really "bad." IMO, there's sufficient evidence.

The bottom line is that he is a very mentally ill person and the outcome of getting into a relationship with him will not be a good one.

Spoiler. Then he started to become angry and insane. It seems like in the TV show he started to get crazy after Penny was zombified, but now that she's dead once again at the hands of Michonne he's going to go full-on insane. And so now is the starting point of when The Governor is introduced in the comics and the state of the characters in Woodbury.
I just hoped he stops caring so much about Andrea and what she is exposed to. He should hate her now because she let Michonne get away, for all 'he' knows she could be in this with Merle. He shouldn't have anymore ties with her, but something with the new promos tells me he's not done with their relationship...I hope the 2nd half of S3 is the start of a good villain, but it's gonna be hard to see him go there if Andrea keeps tagging alone.
