You should know that I, of all people, am very critical of this season. Don't try to put me in the 'enraged fanboy' position here, buddy.

You put yourself in that category.

What I just told you, voting with your wallet thing, is exactly what I am doing. I don't watch TWD on TV and I will not buy the season 3 DVD set.

You're not watching the show, yet you are posting in a TV thread? See the irony here?

I am actually doing something. Might not be much, but I take action. All you do is complain. All bark and no bite. AMC won't care if you don't like the show's direction, you're watching it which boosts ratings and the money they get.

Only the people with rating devices count for ratings. I don't even live in the US.

Puh-leeze, you insinuated that I couln't take criticism of the show.

Not watching it on TV, like someone just pointed out to you.

You're still giving the show ratings, with or without those devices. I'm quite sure of that. Whatever, you lost all credibility the moment you started insulting me anyways.

Why are you taking this so personally? I'm simply saying if your going to post a quote atleast read it... its pretty clear. I could make personal digs at you but its kind of immature, maybe english isn't your first language but I'm pretty sure I would have been speaking rhetorically or genuinely asking why take it personally- you have no profile picture, your name and/or post aren't memorable so I probably don't remember you hence me asking

I, for one, would like to see the character development of S1 and S2. Shane had become someone who needed Cher to come in, slap him, and tell him to "snap out of it!" As another poster suggested, I prefer the realistic approach to the "humans on the trail" like they showed in the bar. How likely is it that this particular group would cross paths with the gov? Eh. Maybe - but should he have such an involved story line to the exclusion of the core group's development?

This season has been written like a synopsis, with the viewers scrambling to fill in the blanks. I don't mind knowing that major characters may be killed off. It serves to create anticipation - but SO many in one season? At the rate they're falling, there won't be anyone left to care about - not without some back stories for the new additions.

I take your point but you have to take into account this shows source material - its based upon the 100+ issues of the comic, and the governor is a much loved character in the comic... so its like saying why would the X-Men bump into magneto if that makes any kind of sense (kinda tired here lol)... I think the rate of death reflects not only the source material, but the realism of a ZA. People I think would die in bunches rather than spread out evenly... I understand what your saying though, care has to be taken introducing new characters into the fold

Pretty sure you were being condescending to That Guy - something along the lines of "see the irony?" after completely miss quoting him/her... take your little digs at me, I don't need to lower myself into personal attacks because your clearly making yourself look a mug on your own

It surprises me to learn that the governor is "much loved" anywhere besides in Andrea's bed. lol. I get your point about Magneto, but there was a history between the two lead men that stretched back in time. The viewers were aware of that history. I hope they'll show some flashbacks (if a history exists) for the governor.

They eliminated and added so many characters this season. I just wish the writers would slow down and not be so rushed to leap ahead without the middle story. I don't read comics - actually thought they were a lost art - but perhaps, it's time for the writers to either stray or add depth to what we're seeing.

There is no prior history, magneto was probably a poor choice but first I could think of lol... I think the issue is that they are two very different mediums, and the prison arch is around 37 issues (pretty much 3 years worth of comics - not sure in real time how long theyre there) so has time to develop where as this season seems to have rushed alot of plot point... honestly I think the writers could do with re-reading the comics because its fast losing the feel of the comic

The plot about the town is so far off what the story is about. I COMPLETELY agree that there should be conflicts between survivors, but they should be similar to the one where Rick,Glenn and Hershall are in the bar and they talk with/kill the two guys and some guys outside. It took half an episode and was really well made. No need to take up 3 quarters of the episodes to show Glenn being tortured and Rick and the Gang looking at the wall. If you want realism, a quick conflict like the one at the bar is far more likely than a guy that keeps his dead daughter in a cage.

Precisely, that bar scene was amazing, like a scene from goodfellas. It was shocking. Woodbury is so ott and cartoonish. Badly done.

If twd writers keep dragging this out i will probably watch the rest on netflix whenever its released on there or maybe not at all.

Woodbury would be very interesting if we could actually get a look at characters other then Andrea and the Governor. I personally think the Governor is a very interesting character when he is not staring at Andrea. I'd love to hear more about Milton and Martinez too. The only problem with the Woodbury story line is that it only centers around Andrea's point of view. You'd think that the fact that Andrea is not such a loved character would be a warning sign to the writers. I wish that they had brought her in simply to introduce us to their world, not to center around her predictable flirty feelings.

All they have to do to get this show back to the quality it was, is to:

1. Deviate from the governor plot pretty soon and the story continues as a single plot with different aspects.
2. Stop killing so many important characters

I'd like to see them fight for th prison but then deciding to hit the road to find another base. To me it's more interesting to see them in the open then bunkered down in an unbreachable prison lol

yeah an attack on the prison with the Guv's untrained but angry townsfolk through the red zone to a virtually impregnable prison is so implausibly ridiculous I can only assume that the Guv has an ace up his sleeve.

I'd rather see Rick's group just leaving the prison and watching the Guv turn up to a prison that's been flooded with walkers thanks to ricks group pulling down the fences and taking off the doors. Then Rick turns round to his group, says "slam dunk" and they all cheer high five and walk back into the ZA leaving the Guv surrounded by walkers and being eaten alive. Oh and Michonne decided to preempt the Guv but is also eaten on the way.

More ZA..less human vs human "Jericho" style gun battles.

I think this video illustrates my point better than anything I can write. The scene at the end of "18 Miles Out" is what TWD is missing this Season. The music and the simplicity of the walker in the field (and Shane's reaction) was such a powerful moment. It still gives me chills. This video includes more but still makes my point.

Yeah, the walker in the field I really thought was gonna lead the series into a new direction of uber coolness and postmodern apocalyptic cable tv. TWD really does have a few moments of real ground breaking tv but the whole "escape from woodbury" farce has left a bad taste in my mouth (not literally).

I would be worried if you suddenly hated the show so much (which seems like you do now) that it left a literal bad taste in your mouth. The taste of pure hatred lol. I'd suggest vast quantities of Captain Morgan to wash it down.

Serenity, cool video. I love that song, that was a great ending to an episode. That and Nebraska (which had another cool song).
