Fun issue, lot of cool stuff happening.

Negan all jazzed up about the recruitment process was pretty amusing. Beta seems interesting, I'm kind of disappointed that we haven't met any lieutenants until just now. I wonder if there are multiple betas? Or is there a Gamma and Delta next in line in their rank structure? Weird but I am intrigued. But this Beta guy is huge and scary looking - you have to wonder why he hasn't challenged Alpha. Maybe he's wants her but Negan is showing up to sweep her off her feet.


Eugene and Stephanie is getting way juicer. The more I hear from Stephanie, the more I think she is holed up at a government/military instillation.

I've been thinking about Eugene and his radio a lot and started theorizing... What if the government didnt completely collapse and theres an able bodied military out there that Eugene has stumbled upon.

After everything the survivors have been through and created. I think as far as Rick and Co. are concerned, they've re-started humanity. Rick and Negan must feel like they're each some kind of world power? would you agree?

And life has gotten so weird with The Whisperers. People living like animals where rape is commonplace. wearing human skin to survive.

What if, when the tension between Rick, Negan, and The Whisperers, all comes to a head the actual government suddenly appears and "saves the day". The conflict between our known factions shifts. i Doubt Alpha, Negan, nor Rick would want to give up everything they've worked for to go back to how it was before zombies.

I think that scenario would present some really interesting new stories.

There's no way Negan can be down with the Whisperer's rape stance. I think he'll seduce Alpha somehow and then as soon as she lets her guard down, he'll carve her up. That Beta guy looks like an old WWF wrestler from the 80's. Dude is huge. I really hope Aaron didn't go out like that. An off panel death would just suck, so I don't think we've seen the last of him. Can't wait to see how Negan handles himself in hostile territory.

Same. Every few Negan bubbles I found myself saying "wait...what?" and had to read it again.

Agreed. That is one thing about him I dont see him kneeling and changing his mind about just to fit in.

I in no way want there to still be a surviving government/countries this will kill the idea that the world has ended and the first years of the book would be meaningless. 

 

No one but Euge has even heard this Stephanie or even knows the fricking radio works.  I still think this might be part of Euge losing his mind ala Ricks phone until I see some evidence it really is a person on the other end.

How anyone thinks Negan is being serious about "joining" the whisperers is beyond me. There is no way he is going to allow the shit they do to continue.

 

Negan loves power and being in control he will never be a second fiddle to Alpha he is just buying his time for a complete take over.  Do we even know how much about the whisperers Rick told Negan?

 

If Rick spilled the beans about them Negan has a plan and is not what he is making himself out be at the moment. 

 

I bet 100 bucks that Negan plays them like a fiddle and we will have Alpha Negan controlling the whisperers and as a twist there will be NO war.

 

Negan will unite the whisperers with Alexandria and this is how he will finally win Ricks approval/trust to lead the Saviors once more.

 

Anyone have any idea what the male to female ratio is for the Whisperers? I would have to think there's probably more males than females considering the way they live. I can definitely see Negan doing some sneaky recon in the Whisperer's camp in hopes of finding some rape in progress and quickly putting a violent, deadly end to it.

Of course. They wouldn't put into words, but figures like Rick and Negan absolutely see themselves as the forefathers of the new world -- just with very different philosophies on how to strengthen their respective nations and colonies. They think of themselves as all that remains of the world (sans bubble communities), and as the sole reason that these communities even continue to exist at all. There's no way either would willingly relinquish their powers, no matter who rose. It's concede, or die.

I do agree with davery, on the point made that neither Rick nor negan would actually want to return to life pre apocalypse, they become important people in this new world and be running it

Negan's dialog is getting a bit much

sometimes it just comes off as way too goofy

 

While I do think he's funny, I agree to an extent. He'll never have the menacing aura he had in his first few appearances again. 

 

I liked the issue though, it was interesting to see how Negan acted when he wasn't in a position of power or with the Saviors. I also have to go back and re-read the last few issues imagining a female voice talking to Eugene now...

My god, the greatest thing to come from this issue was Negan's dialog. Every line was pure gold. When he walked into the out lands of the Whisperer camp, he knew exactly who and what he was looking for, he probably knows they like to rape, and he probably knows Alpha isn't too keen on it but lets it happen anyway. Rick told Negan everything he knows about them and everything Lydia told him as well. Negan is in this to take over the Whisperers, create peace, and win over Rick's trust.

 

I'm not sure if Aaron is dead yet or not. But Walker-Brandon's gonna kill someone.

 

The blacked-out face theory is almost the same as the Special Cast Member on the couch of Talking Dead theory. From what I remember, Glenn was the only one that actually came true. I can't think of any others that it's true for.

 

In any case, I can't wait until next issue, especially if it's Negan-heavy. He's pretty much my new favorite character in the book.

Negan has stated a few times he is very much against rape. plus he saved holly so that actually does count.he may have said he'll order them to rape carl but infeel it was just a threat. he also gave them the choice for a trade or sex. they chose the sex. call it what you want it's a very close on edge but it's free will ( sort of)

Negan still has supporters it was established a few issues ago. he also wants the communities still working. he went against brandons plan which means he just wants to have power. pretty much it. he wants people working under him.

Wow, just when I thought Negan was of intimidating size we get Beta who stands at least a head higher than him. Negan's reaction to his size was hilarious and I wonder if his competitiveness brought on his outrageous request for a suit with a generous crotch, lol. Beta seems to be a guy who observes much and speaks little. Negan seems intrigued by the whisperers in the same way he was to see Carl's unbandaged eye socket. Beta is just as intrigued by Negan - that smirk over his fearless ego...They all seem a bit surprised that Negan didn't mistake them for roamers. Negan calls Beta a softie but I have to wonder if he doesn't want the responsibility & blame that comes with being an Alpha. It will be interesting to see if Negan tries to charm & seduce Alpha. I also enjoyed Andrea & Maggie's girl talk and Aaron looking for something stable instead of just a rebound. Eugene has me paranoid with that radio.

I feel like beta is really the alpha, and remains the beta because the position goes unchallenged. Were about to find out a lot mor about the whisperers through negan and alpha dialogue, to be certain. I'm very excited for Rick and negans eventual reunion.

Damn, so much content. I wouldn't mind the monthly releases at all if each issue gave this much. Very satisifed

They crossed the border is the hoarde coming now

so i have a couple of theories. Michonne will kill all of them, or she will be taken. while Aaron is left to die.

then again maybe she fends them off enough and gets back to the border when the others arrive.
