First off I'd like to say that I already posted a theory on the comics and it was disproved by Robert Kirkman, but I didn't know because I never read his letter hacks.  The same can go for this, seeing as I never watched his interviews or anything.

The Wolves seemed to be a quick kink in the road and there was evidence that there were a lot of them.  Is it possible that they can come back later, after Negan's reign ends, as The Whisperers?

I assumed that the Wolves were the TV show's interpretation of the Scavengers from the comic. Rick and Co. made quick work of them when they showed up at the ASZ gate. The "little pig, little pig, let me in" statement that Derek says to Rick makes me think that the "big bad" Wolves and the Scavengers were a reflection of each other's group.

makes sense. Do you think whisperers will be implemented at all, btw? They seem a bit to unrealistic. People wearing the skin of dead people. I don't see how they would play this out. It's one thing in a comic but another in a tv show

I think they could pull the Whisperers off on the show. Nicotero's make up and special effects are top notch IMO. I think the idea of people living amongst the dead is a pretty interesting concept.  It's been the main arc in the comic for quite a few issues now, so I definitely see the show bringing them into play when the time is right. I'm looking forward to it actually.

While it's certainly possible, I find it improbable the Wolves will return. I can't see any reason for them to rehash that story.

They could pull the Whisperer's off I think. They already established that covering yourself in walker guts hides you from them. Wearing a full on skin suit seems a logical, though twisted, next step.

I'm pretty excited to see the whisperers on the show. I don't think it'd be hard to do at all. As far as the wolves go tho....I hope we are done with them. I found that part of the show to be pretty stupid IMO. They didn't have to be so over the top. The whole zombie traps in the semi trucks and all that never went anywhere. And yes I am assuming that's what is going into the theory of them coming back later as the whisperers.....I just hope it's not where Kirkman and AMC are headed.

I think the whole zombies in semi trucks thing was actually the earliest preview of the Saviors we had, and was actually for them and not the Wolves.

What did the wolves ever do with zombies? Nothing.

What did the Saviors do with zombies? Makes a chained zombie wall to block the road in the finale.

I've altered the title to the thread and moved it from the general TWD TV Forum to the Season 6 Forum.

The Wolves barely survived their assault on Alexandria, and the ones who escaped were gunned down by Rick outside the RV. I find it highly unlikely that any pockets of them exist elsewhere, as they didn't have a permanent camp where they lived. While it seems that they were building a walker army, herding the dead back into the trucks at the end of Season 5, they were alos just randomly killing weaker redshirts in Alexandria. Their intentions were totally unknown.

I don't think we'll see the Wolves again, but it would be kinda cool to see the Saviors "protecting" Alexandria or some other community from the last remnants of the group by slaughtering the sole survivor outside the gates  for the whole community to see. It would really set the tone for the whole "strong arm protection" payment.

thing about what you said now is:
a. The whisperers also dont have a perma home
b. We dont know there arent any more wolves, it couldve just been a few from the pack and the rest stayed behind. We saw that they were all sprawled out and none were rly with each other, just like the camp of Negan's that Rick and the crew attacked. They thought that was it but there were more elsewhere

But all in all, i just thought that looking at the time gap from when the crew encounters negan in the comics to when they encounter the whisperers (2 or 3 years i believe) the remenants of the wolves, assuming the show will also have the time gap, could have definitely completed the zombie army and become whisperers. They can even put a new meaning to the W on their heads that way too. W for Whisperers. And sure their intentions in herding walkers was unclear, but then again, what are anyones intentions but to survive? And if there r any other intentions, they get brought out later when they have been carried out.

I must have missed that episode

It was the one with Aaron and Daryl out. The horse got killed. They got trapped in the car, and Morgan rescued them. The person _Ghost_ is referring to is the guy in the red poncho. After the wolves killed him we see them resetting the trap that Aaron and Daryl tripped.

It was the Season 5 Finale, a post-credits scene. The Wolves found Aaron's backpack, which had the pictures of Alexandria in it.
