A little blade slice like that won't kill you...

I'm thinking it would be cool if Rick gunked up his knife before slashing Negan. Now that would be poetic.

More likely, Negan is just wounded. Hilltop now has heavy firepower in there from Eugene, and the final battle takes place.

But yeah. This issue was rushed. Rick should've thought he was infected for longer and we should've had more reactions from Carl and Andrea. Plus, 12 hours passed in the blink of an eye

Exactly. This is why I feel All Out War has faltered a bit, not enough reaction/development time. More of Negan running away and making snappy lines instead is not a better alternative. This issue has somewhat made up for that.

maybe rick actually only meant to slice him thinking his blade was still contaminated, thus infecting negan, that would be a worthy death for negan i think. that cut did not look bad at all, and is rick retarded ? what is stopping all the saviors from instantly raising their guns and mowing him down after that ? i don't think that kirkman will actually do that but if my leader just got sliced in the throat in front of me i wouldn't be long pumping some rounds into the attacker ya' know ?

Am I the only one who thinks Negan was full of shit?

They were both full of shit, but Rick drew first.

I liked the issue, actually. Or maybe I'm just happy we're almost done with this arc. I don't think Negan is dead, his throat was just nicked. Obviously Kirkman was going for shock value there. What I don't get is why Rick didn't just set Andrea to have her snipe Negan, but then I guess she wouldn't have known when. Rick's whole speech and Negan's as well served to lower the Savior's defenses. I'm guessing in the next issue they're gonna be caught unawares and the real bloodbath will begin. Given Maggie's increased panel time I'm guessing she's the one who's gonna kill Negan. Rick better run fast.

Nicholas's death was pretty sad. Yeah, he could be a bit of an ass, but he was one of Alexandria's most prominent figures and he really loved his family. I also liked the talk Carl had with Mikey. I really hope they become friends.

I don't understand how Jesus kills zombies by kicking them. Wouldn't that become exhausting after some point? Why not use a knife, at least?

I really hated the cover for issue 127 when it came out, but I think that after this arc it might be nice to focus on another group for a while, so I can breathe easy for a bit.

Negan isn't dead. This isn't his death right here. The shock ending is that Rick attacked Negan instead of the other way around.

I really enjoyed this issue. The best thing about it was that it called back to A Larger World and the entire point of this communtiy arc. Building towards a better future together. When Negan arrived it seemed that was completely put aside and I love that Kirkman brought it back and made it integral to All Out War's ending.

Honestly, I was squirming because, like others, I was entirely expecting Negan to stab Rick. Unlike the Governor, Negan has shown himself to be a reasonable man. Negan's whole MO is working together. He just believed his methods were the only true solutions in the zombie apocalypse.

That's why his "Fuck" gets a full page. Negan's been completely singleminded and incredibly violent but he's not an idiot. He CAN listen to reason.

I thought it was a really interesting way for the conflict to come to a head. Makes it different from the Made to Suffer arc. I mean who would have thought Negan and Rick could actually talk it out?

And it's a further development of Rick Grimes' character arc that's been going on since after the Prison and showcased in issue 75.

Exactly. This is why I feel All Out War has faltered a bit, not enough reaction/development time. More of Negan running away and making snappy lines instead is not a better alternative. This issue has somewhat made up for that.

If i'm being honest that's almost been a problem with the entire series from the beginning and the biggest problem with the 6 issue 22 page comic book storytelling medium.

Also, Carl still looks too old... What is he 11?

Hi guys,

I started reading the Walking Dead monthly 3 issues before 100, so 97. In my POV, this had so much closure, and yet opened so many possibilities at the same time for Rick. Who will Rick become? Will that wound kill Negan? What if Rick's group still doesn't win the fight, what would the consequence be for striking at Negan preemptively? (I don't really believe that Negan was going along with Rick, I though it was bs, but maybe he was sincere. The panels would seem to lean more toward Negan really going with it, his face *seemed* genuine. Maybe I just don't want to believe it idk.) All in all, great issue, excited for the end of this arc, I think there's plenty more story coming with a double issue on the way. Needless to say, I'm SO glad they did this arc in bi-weekly increments, and I'm now spoiled. RK, want to pretty please keep doing this? :)

They kept the extra artist didn't they?

Not sure how I feel about the ending yet, but I loved the issue as a whole. Lots of great bits, from Carl to Maggie and Earl ( do I see a spark between them :) ) im reserving full judgement on the ending until it you know...ends

The 'stache shall be avenged.

for a split second I thought they were heading down an inoculation route, so I was a little happy when he bite it. But there is a definite lack if stash now...and if rick lives I bet he shaves soon.

Im not saying Rick should have waited for a "cooler" way to kill Negan but RK should have wrote a "cooler" way.

People said the same about the Governor

Imagine a group of a hundred motorcycles driving down a freeway. Eventually, they hit a junction. One road goes northwest and the other goes northeast. So one guy, we'll call him S, says, "Let's go northwest!" A mile past the intersection, a semi careens into the group and kills ninety of them. Ten are wounded, but they survive and keep going. Eventually, they hit 10,000 miles. S suddenly has his consciousness thrown into his past body right before the junction. Now, he says, "Let's go northeast!" All 100 bikers survive. Happily ever after, right? But what about the ten, no nine, who went northwest and survived? What happens to the reality they were living? Does it just disappear now that S has changed the past? It's not like only bad things happened on that 10,000 mile journey. Maybe one of them fell in love with a gas station attendant and got her pregnant or maybe one adopted a homeless kid that joined the adventure. That 10,000 mile journey would be full of stories. Romances, farewells, friendships...the loss of those ninety lives is horrible and unfortunate, but what would rewriting their history mean? The nine who survived lived full lives and did the best they could with the hand they were dealt. How could it be right to just erase all that? Isn't that worth something? Is there a point to a world where everything is happy? Are people who struggle for a better life just idiots? Being human is about fighting even when it seems hopeless and finding happiness in a world that hates it. Are you saying that's worthless?

The ending could also be a sort of ironic callback to a line Negan said to Rick way way back.

I'm with Axel and Leela on this one now that I read it again Kneeghan was being sarcastic. Rick nicked him pretty good but no carotid that's why there was no spew.

During that chat I was at the edge of my seat the entire time. I knew at least one of them was going to attack the other, but had no idea which one would draw first.

first issue in a while that I absolutely liked.
There were still some eugh dialog bits, and I really didn't like Negan's "WOW! YOU'VE SHOWN ME THE WAY!" lines at the end (I was really hoping he was just fucking around and would stab rick or something)
But other than that
I actually liked Rick and Negan.
As some of you know, I've felt Rick has been pretty eh lately, and I've fucking hated Negan in the worst way ever since AoW started, but I genuinely enjoyed their exchange.

Loved Rick giving a good speech again. God knows it's been long enough since the last one.
Loved Negan actually talking like a normal human fuckin being for once (even if I didn't like that it lead up to such hollywood feeling enlightenment but still)
For a little bit, I thought "you know...maybe I wouldn't mind THAT much if Negan didn't die and instead he played the role of reluctant participant in Rick's plans."
then I realized 1.) Kirkman would send him back to FUCK FUCKY SHIT DICK FUCK A DUCK Land as soon as he could. 2.) Rick was gonna ffuck up a great chance of peace here in a few seconds. 3.) I would probably have ended up hating that storyline even if it did happen.

So yeah. Pretty much loved this issue.

assssssssiide from this. I'm about to get Negan levels of vulgar here, but goddammit this character has been really annoying me lately.
Fuck...you...jesus. Oh my FUCK! You know, I get it kirkman. Jesus is some Martial Arts Master, but holy shit. Are you seriously fucking telling he went into a moderately sized group of zombies AND WAS FIGHTING THEM WITH HIS BARE-FUCKING-HANDS. THIS JUST HIGHLIGHTS 2 PROBLEMS THAT HAVE BEEN EMERGING FOR A WHILE

1. Jesus is becoming way too much of an action hero lately

2. Zombies are a goddamn non-entity at this point. they don't matter. They're season 3 of the show zombies right now. They're cannon fodder and they have been since No Way Out.

I hate jesus lol

I really loved this issue. I felt the tension right from when Rick was telling Andrea and Carl he'll go alone to talk with Negan. Their entire discussion was really well done.

I also liked Carl's advice to Mikey.

I thought for sure Negan would draw first. For being so devious and underhanded I kind of disliked Rick. I want to see him beat Negan, but attacking him like that after making a speech about peace is hypocritical and there is no honor in it.

Best part of the issue....?

The Rick, Carl, Andrea group hug. FUCK YEAH!

Also, fuck Rick for not being more relieved or happy that Eugene made it back alive. The Eugene being willing to blow his brains out to protect the group? Fucking A...this guy is my hero. If Rosie doesn't hop on his PorterStick, I'm going to lose my shit.
