I'm afraid she's already hooked up with me. A proper fine woman she is, she's finally learnt what a loser Glenn is and left him for me.

You just made yourself a target

Neither are very pleasant names if I'm being honest, but Raggie is the way to go.

Some have referred to them as "Magick". I actually like that more than Raggie because it sounds like "magic."

Magick. I like it. No better than that, I love it.

Is there any flaws to this pairing? Like, ever?

Well, there is that little matter that she is currently "married" to someone else. :P

Touché.

Glenn's just a minor bump into the road. Soon enough Maggie will forget him ;)

Yeah she looks like she has to take a shit lol

Sorry, can't post that much Rick/Maggie stuff because they don't have many scenes together.

This scene was pretty intense though.

Anybody who loves Rick does so at their own risk.   He's not always a nice man -- sometimes he's downright mean; he punishes people who disagree with him by silence or mistreatment; he won't talk, he's always running off, and he's pretty darn fragile when tragedy strikes -- which may be okay in modern day suburban live but is a recipe for disaster in a ZA.

You must be watching a different show from me, because no way have I ever seen that happen in the show.

I will agree he was broken by Lori's death, but what do you expect? He treated her like shit, and not just for a stupid reason either. She was pregnant with his best friend's child, she had unintentionally sparked off the events that led to him killing Shane etc. It was implied he wouldn't be open about his feelings before the apocalypse, but some people are just like that. The apocalypse broke that, and he is an extremely flawed man (no denying that) but even though he may dislike somebody, he will do whatever it takes to keep them alive.

He doesn't punish people who disagree with him. I'm watching season2 right now, and whilst he wanted Randall dead, he was open to Dale's views about sparing him. That to me shows what a great leader he is because he listens to everybody's opinions. He banished Carol for killing K & D, because she was a threat to his community and most importantly, Carl and Judith. He didn't help the hitchhiker guy because he was in a dark place, and he treated Michonne pretty badly when she was first arrived but to him she was a threat. He had just lost Lori to a guy he didn't deem worthy enough actually killing in the first place.

All I'm saying is that Rick is a completely different person when he's a leader. He will punish those who are a threat to his family, and he will openly disagree with people about certain views, but he will do whatever it takes to protect them all. So far he's done ok, he lost his wife due to a silly mistake, but he has learnt from that. He has found his balance between caring and doing what needs to be done.

So Maggie is a pretty great match for him. She's exactly the same. Independent, strong, will do whatever it takes to protect her family. Glenn would need to die, and she would need to mourn for a season or two, but eventually these two flawed people will slowly but surely find love with one another. They may have been changed due to the apocalypse, but it's their determination to protect their loved ones that keep them from fully falling apart. We've seen that time and time again.

the only person i remember him giving the "silent treatment" to and being VERY mean to was his wife.....and while i do NOT agree with the way he treated her (after she got pregnant) i can sympathize with how torn he mustve felt......but i DO think he shouldve tried much harder to understand lori never intended for shane to snap and go bonkers over her and her unborn child. ive aalways felt bad for lori more so in the show becaause imo rick was much nicer to her even when she was pregnant and gave birth to judith in the comic.

AND the reason he was always running off was to protect the group.,...except for when lori died and he went a little crazy .,....but basically everyone ahas gone crazy a little bit......michonne used to talk to her dead boyfriend.....

regardless of anything rick is a great leader and id like to see anyone do as well as he has

I might be a little crazy here and picking at straws, but I'm going through the series on rewatch in preparation for the trailer coming out and there is more Rick/Maggie signs popping out at me.

Maggie's the first one to ask if Rick's ok when he checks upon the group after his conversation with Amy. She also goes with Glenn for more formula as well as toys (rubber duck) for baby Judith. She's also got his back during Made To Suffer (granted they all did) but she's the one who notices he's taking a spell for the worst and is pleading for him to snap out of it.

People probably think I'm being really crazy here and especially over a pairing that might never happen. If we were all to be described, my description would probably be that crazy Rick/Maggie lover who despises the two bit lush and time jumps. But I definitely think the writers were hinting at Rick/Maggie as a potential couple to occur in the future.

Now the game may have changed, due to the difference in show runners. Aside from their scenes in Internment and Isolation(Isolated?), Rick and Maggie haven't had any of that. I really hope I'm not just plucking it out of thin air, because I'm definitely interested in the pairing. Heck, shipping isn't even my thing. I used to laugh at the notion of it. Now here I am desperately hoping for it to happen.

If it doesn't happen, that's fine. But I would really like to see more of them in scenes together in the future.

What you see depends on what you're looking for. Honestly I haven't really seen any "signs", and I don't see how they were hinting at anything for the future.. they hardly have any scenes together. And that magick video was just cuts from different scenes, sometimes when they weren't even together or looking at one another. Maggie knows how important Rick is to the group, It's more of a respect thing to me.

Rick is too old for Maggie in my personal opinion and I don't think he'd get romantically involved her for the sake of his friend Glenn, even if he was dead for awhile.

Different strokes for different folks. It's all fun speculating but I have my reasons for it anyway. And the video obviously was made by a fan of them, there's quite a few of them out there.

How is Rick too old for Maggie. He's in his mid to late thirties, Maggie is 24. And in the comics

Spoiler

And besides what age got to do with anything anyway? They are both mature adults who can do whatever they want. They don't have the emotional range of a child, and they compliment each other. And in my opinion the actors have amazing chemistry together, more so than Glenn/Maggie. Glenn brings her down big time.

Now if they were similar to Daryl and Beth I will agree with you. Beth acts like a young teenager, and not an adult. That's why I don't see her and Daryl happening. Daryl is also extremely immature as well (in that area at least). But if they were both mature for their age and know what each other wanted, I would have no problem with it.

I'm sorry if I sound aggressive here but their ages aren't exactly an issue. I know a couple, a woman in her late twenties and a guy in his mid to late forties. Yet they've been together for quite a while, are happily married and have twins. I don't see the issue with the age at all.

Rick/Maggie have also shown to work extremely well together as shown in Internment. Glenn all but dropped his duties when Maggie fell when trying to push the fences back. Maggie was wanting to stay behind with Rick even when they heard that gunshot coming from the quarantine zone.

To me they are this cool alternate pairing that's a lot more fun to discuss than Daryl/Carol or Daryl/Beth. There is actually a chance of this working out based on the source material. AMC is obviously not going to pair Daryl up with anybody at all until his last breath. And even if it doesn't become a thing, I'm not bothered by it at all.

And on the topic about Glenn, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't mind who Maggie hooks up with (after his death of course) as long as she was happy in the relationship. Shane and Lori hooked up out of grief when the world fell apart, and Rick himself said he understood it. So I don't see how that's an issue either.
