Season 4 is over. I thought was amazing season. Now we have to wait for Season 5 to get here. What do you want to happen in Season 5?

Here is what I want:

I want Tyreese and Bob to have more presence throughout the course of the Season (they are portrayed by great actors, they need to be able to show off their acting skills).

An episode where we see Maggie, Sasha and Michonne interacting.

An episode with Daryl, Tyreese and Abraham interacting together.

Rosita to get lots of dialogue like she did in the episode Us (I say this because I want her to have more depth than she does in the comic book).

I want Beth to return so we can know what happened to her.

I want Michonne to interact with people outside of Rick and Carl.

And there are many other things I want to happen in Season 5.

So what is your wishlist for this upcoming 5th Season?

I want the two bit lush known as Beth Greene to die a long and painful death, and for Daryl to piss on her corpse.

Too much?

On a more serious note, I want Maggie to have a larger role.

I don't want any bottle episodes like Still. Ever again.

Daryl to go onto larger Storylines that don't revolve around his dick or the same old shit.

Glenn to become his own character and don't revolve around Maggie. (As much as I like them as a couple)

Rick/Maggie to become a pairing if Glenn dies (more likely to happen in season6 or 7)

To be on the road for the first half after escaping from Terminus and have new Storylines not from the comics. Expand on the lesser characters.

And most importantly of all, look at my first post.

Great topic!

First, after the whole issue of Terminus is dealt with, I'd like to see everyone on the road for a while. It seems like it would take more than half a season to make it up to D.C. considering how long it's taken them to get around Georgia recently. I'd like to see them have to return to Atlanta (for a change of scenery), if only for an episode or two and perhaps run into Morgan along the way.

No more farmer Rick. Either Glen or Maggie now have to die, after the whole burning of the photograph scene- that's just the way things work. I want them to keep developing Michonne's character. I like the idea of a relationship between her and Rick. It'll be interesting to see how Rick and Abraham interact, them both being alpha-type leaders.

I really enjoyed all the character development last season. I hope they'll continue that while keeping a faster pace for the entire season.

I'd like to see a friendship between Tyreese and Rick develop over Tyreese's saving Judith. Also, I would like Tyreese to be the alpha male he gave us a taste of in S3.

I'd like to see a relationship develop between Bob and Sasha. Also, I'd like to see further development of the friendship between Sasha and Maggie. I'd like Maggie to learn that Tara was part of the Governor's militia that attacked the prison resulting in the death of her father and learn her reaction to it in light of Tara's helping Glenn find Maggie.

I would like to see Terminus end fairly quickly and the group be out on the road for a while before making it to DC.

Completely forgot about the Maggie/Sasha friendship. Yep, I want this expanded on because it's the first time we would have a female/female friendship (excluding the poorly handled Andrea/Michonne friendship)

I'd like to see a car chase scene
However I'd like it to be cut short
with the car crashing in a marshy embankment
someone crawling from the overturned wreckage
the marsh is embedded with the grasping yet decayed remains of a fallen herd of walkers

its difficult to see, everything is covered with mud

hawks soar overhead as wild dogs prowl the road above

he can't go back, his captors are coming

he must quickly transverse the marsh before the sun sets

- Deaths! Lots of Deaths!

- Better dialogue.

- More dialogue, even if it's no better than the dialogue in season 4.

- Sasha survives  :wub2:

- Don't drag on the hunter storyline forever.

That's all I can think of for now.

I'm fine with that if Beth is included in the "more deaths" sequence.

Action, a lot more action.  And a lot less psycho-babble  conversations about how people feel.

I Second the above poar re No More Farmer Rick, but I also don't want to see Rick as a near psychothic Brute.   I want to see the Rick that is strong enougn to do what it takes to survive, but is also a hero and not an animal.

NO more boring character development dialogue.   Develop the characters through their actions and their stories.   If you have to spell it out like the viewers are dense, it is lame and not interesting.  Good acting and good story tells more about the characters than any lame "let's discuss it without bothering to worry about our present safety or theats behind the next tree" heart-to-hearts.   The Carol-Lizze-Mika-Tyrese story was a fabulous example of how to tell an intense story without psychobabble.

More complex story lines like the Rick-Tyrese-Karen-David-Carol-Judith-Lizzie-Mika story of Season 4.   It was marvelously complex, one of TWD's best story lines, so heart stopping and so well acted across the board with all actors.   (The Shane-Lori-Rick-Carl story of S1/S2 was equally complex and compelling)

Somebody in the series to decide they want to fight back against the Zombie epidemic (even if they are a failure).   I guess, as it is now set up, that would mean more action for Abraham Ford, Rosita and Eugene -- even though it is obvious that Eugene is a flake and not the real thing.   Does it bug anybody other than me that the characters are not boiling mad at the walkers?   Is there not an upcoming generation of youngsters that want to take them out and save the world?

The end of the  everybody-out-there-is-a-bad-guy theme.   If the story keeps on in the direction it is now going -- with humans killing humans  -- all the characters and the rest of humanity will be extinct by the time Season 5 ends.  Already, they are facing extinction as all the children, teens and tweens except Carl and Judith (and maybe the Morales family children) have been killed off.   Unless Terminus has teens, tweens and children who can be rescued from their delusional Termite parents -- or Rick and his group find some other stable groups of people with families not led by mad men-- human beings are toast.    That makes the survival story boring and nothing more than a well-acted Mad Max.

Right now the main focus is just them surviving day to day. They are going to face various obstacles that could kill then. Right now they are not focused on the future but rather the present. When they get to a stage where they could set up a community, that's where civilisation takes priority and where the human race becomes a priority.

I do agree with you about the human vs humans, but that is their world now and there's bound to be more Shane's, Governor's and Termites than Dale's, Hershel's and Andrea's. I think over time that threat will cease and they will face other stuff that's a threat. In season4 alone they dealt with a plague that nearly wiped them all out and a disturbed mentally ill child.

An episode without a single zombie
  • 0

Imagine a group of a hundred motorcycles driving down a freeway. Eventually, they hit a junction. One road goes northwest and the other goes northeast. So one guy, we'll call him S, says, "Let's go northwest!" A mile past the intersection, a semi careens into the group and kills ninety of them. Ten are wounded, but they survive and keep going. Eventually, they hit 10,000 miles. S suddenly has his consciousness thrown into his past body right before the junction. Now, he says, "Let's go northeast!" All 100 bikers survive. Happily ever after, right? But what about the ten, no nine, who went northwest and survived? What happens to the reality they were living? Does it just disappear now that S has changed the past? It's not like only bad things happened on that 10,000 mile journey. Maybe one of them fell in love with a gas station attendant and got her pregnant or maybe one adopted a homeless kid that joined the adventure. That 10,000 mile journey would be full of stories. Romances, farewells, friendships...the loss of those ninety lives is horrible and unfortunate, but what would rewriting their history mean? The nine who survived lived full lives and did the best they could with the hand they were dealt. How could it be right to just erase all that? Isn't that worth something? Is there a point to a world where everything is happy? Are people who struggle for a better life just idiots? Being human is about fighting even when it seems hopeless and finding happiness in a world that hates it. Are you saying that's worthless?

I would like this also, and I've been trying to think of an episode that didn't have a single zombie in it but there hasn't been.

I would like to see this too, in a way where it works with the story lines and allows for further character development. However, I wonder if it will happen after so many bemoaned S2's reduction in zombies. Maybe for just on episode it would be palatable for the fan base at large.

It could work. Every episode in season2 had at least one zombie in it, despite people's complaints. The Grove, IMO could have easily worked without any of the zombies within it.

No The Grove needed at least the zombies Lizzie played with and fed rats too, especially the one with the rats because that was conclusive evidence it was her back at the prison. The episode could have done without the "extra crispy" walkers, but they were cool makeup wise.

I forget about the walker she was playing with. I do agree that must have been included. But as for the zombie she fed the rat to, I feel that we didn't need to see that. We could have had a scene where she collects the rats and tells Mica that's she is going to find a walker to feed it. Mica tells her off, and Lizzie kills her to "show" her it is not so bad being a walker.

My point was that compelling episodes like that don't need mindless zombie carnage to be entertained. I was invested in what was going on in the screen, and if it all played out without a single zombie I would have left extremely pleased and satisfied. I feel that the writers can play an episode out like this.

Heck, the season finale could have done without the zombie herd you briefly saw. Have Rick/Michonne, Rick/Carl or Michonne/Carl bonding moments to replace that scene. It would still be a great finale, because that scene was pointless in the grand scheme of things.

Can we please get back on topic please? More things I want to see in Walking Dead Season 5:

More character development for Michonne.

For more hints of Michonne and Rick becoming a couple

For Maggie and Glenn to get some story apart from each other.

It was on topic though. I was discussing the idea of an episode without a single zombie, and reflecting on past episodes that could easily didn't need any zombies to be within it.

Anyway, I agree with your last point. They desperately need it, and you could tell both actors would really benefit from getting new material.

Better acting. Especially from Beth, Tara and Rosita.

Less men and women interacting all the time. I'd like them to switch it up and have women doing heavy duty jobs together. Women striking up conversations with each other. Similar to season 1.

A new and improved Rick that strikes when the iron is hot. I wish for Rick to keep that beard. Its very sexy ;)

Carl to talk to Rick about being nearly raped. Michonne being awesome as usual.

All the family reunions. Looking forward to Rick and Carl reuniting with little Judith.

Maggie to be given story lines outside of Glenn and vice versa.

Carol's fate. Tyrese and Bob to have more presence.

Eugene to prove himself useful.

A change in the weather.

The characters actually having down time, like getting to bathe or talk about hygiene. Sharing stories about life before the apocalyse.

One small request for season 5... I'd like to see more flashback-type things like Bob had in season 4. The five minutes dedicated to Bob's solitary life was five of the best minutes of the entire season and I'd like to see that for characters like Abe, the Euge, Ty, etc...
