GOVERNOR IS BACK!

How pumped or not pumped are you for his return?

I personally am very excited, love the Governor and I'm sure his return will be awesome!

Gimple will not let us down.

Knew he had to come back eventually but certainly not excited. I found the drawn out Woodbury saga boring at the end. I find the governor to be boring and unbelievably like teflon. My hope is that he lasts no more than a few episodes and then he meets his end.

His weakness was his daughter, maybe Lizzie will be his demise in some way.

I would only be excited if there is any epic showdown between Michonne and the Gov, like the bar fight scene. Other than that, I have mixed feelings. It seems like this is being drawn out to the point where people are forgetting like with the feeding of the rats, it seemed important at the time but we haven't heard anything else about it. Obviously, the Governor is important with him trying to get revenge on the group but it's being drawn out so much.

Not excited at all. He should have died last season in my opinion. All the Andrea and Governor arc at woodbury was incredibly boring.

I agree the Woodbury stuff got boring at times last season, but I do like the Governor character. Having the Walkers, a killer Flu, and a Psycho to deal with should be pretty interesting. Not to mention, being able to stand out in the open and never getting shot, shows a certain level of bad-assness.

I am not excited. I feel that we, like Michonne, need to move on. However, now that there is a new show runner, we may see a very different governor. In that case, I guess I will be surprised. When he is killed, and I hope he is killed, I really want Andrea's name to be the last thing he hears.

I felt that The Governor wasn't handled that well last season but I have faith that his return will be something of epic proportions. The new show runner is an enormous fan of the comics so I think that he will do a character as big as him some justice. I believe in Scott Gimple!

I voted "no". Not because I think it will be boring but I was hoping the gang would decide to head out on the road and have the Governor follow them essentially pestering them along the way until there is a final resolution.

The Governor is just a character working out great in comics, but not well suited for a TV show. He was announced to be just as bad-ass as his comic counterpart, but in fact he seemed more like a season antagonist for "Dexter" than a TWD character.

As long as the rest of the season isn't Governor-centric, then yes, I am excited.

YES! Seeing him return was the high point of the episode for me!
I know people were annoyed that his storyline was dragged out last season, but I'm sure Gimple can do a good job with him this season.

I've read the comics, and I much prefer the Governor's TV counterpart. He seems more real and more dangerous than he was in the comics.

I found the Woodbury story arc incredibly boring last season.

That being said, I'm excited for this. I voted yes.

Last season we were introduced to Phillip. This season I believe we will be seeing the true Governor.

While I did not read the entire comics, I was reading a lot about the comics version of The Governor and I really expected a total maniacal psycho. In the TV show, he just didn't came over so dangerous and scary to me. Yes, The Governor was sadistic, he was a smooth talker and completely in charge at most situation ( e.g. he was in full control of the situation during his meeting with Rick despite having a gun pointed at him), he was sick for keeping the heads in the fish tanks and he was brutal seeing how he beat up and killed Milton and slaughtered his own army consisting of inexperienced civilians for disobeying him, but yet he seemed boring, just the kind of villain we have seen many times over. I hope he is a much stronger character the time we are going to see him now, although I hope he isn't around for too long.

me too. Everybody is saying how boring the who Governor/Woodbury thing was, and it was. But they don't realize that they can start fresh and correct all the mistakes they made last season with The Governor, and make it so much better and exciting. And I bet they all come back here a few weeks from now and praise the hell out of it, and say how amazing it is, smh just a bunch of bandwagoners.

I really hope this is the sadistic Gov we all wanted and expected. I like that they filled in his backstory but he could be the best TV villain in a long time. Hopefully they find a way to connect him to his comic self because that guy is as dark and gritty as they get and this show needs a hug infusion of gut wrenching drama. I really hope the show takes a dark turn.

Imagine a group of a hundred motorcycles driving down a freeway. Eventually, they hit a junction. One road goes northwest and the other goes northeast. So one guy, we'll call him S, says, "Let's go northwest!" A mile past the intersection, a semi careens into the group and kills ninety of them. Ten are wounded, but they survive and keep going. Eventually, they hit 10,000 miles. S suddenly has his consciousness thrown into his past body right before the junction. Now, he says, "Let's go northeast!" All 100 bikers survive. Happily ever after, right? But what about the ten, no nine, who went northwest and survived? What happens to the reality they were living? Does it just disappear now that S has changed the past? It's not like only bad things happened on that 10,000 mile journey. Maybe one of them fell in love with a gas station attendant and got her pregnant or maybe one adopted a homeless kid that joined the adventure. That 10,000 mile journey would be full of stories. Romances, farewells, friendships...the loss of those ninety lives is horrible and unfortunate, but what would rewriting their history mean? The nine who survived lived full lives and did the best they could with the hand they were dealt. How could it be right to just erase all that? Isn't that worth something? Is there a point to a world where everything is happy? Are people who struggle for a better life just idiots? Being human is about fighting even when it seems hopeless and finding happiness in a world that hates it. Are you saying that's worthless?

Real? Sure, but he's still a cartoony douche. Dangerous? Absolutely not, by any stretch of the imagination

If a guy takes out an organised group of soldiers with ease, and then later murders his own people because he's a little peeved off, yes, I will consider him to be dangerous.

But when it came right down to it a little band of people in the prison took and beat him/ they were out gunned
out manned so he might need to think about this again.....especially if he only has his 2 thugs still?
It was good against andrea/ soldiers who should have been more alert/ and some stupid WB people waiting for the next picnic but he was no match for Rick and Company

True, but many of his good soldiers had died by the time he fought Rick's group. The one's he used to attack the prison were just some random people.
Still though, he gunned down his own people. I definitely wouldn't trust him if I were in that situation.

If they take away his Supervillain-esque aura and veer him more into the ruthless maniac from the comics, I will be happy about his return. If they continue with the whole walking into open fields of bullets and magically avoiding them I'll be pissed.

He wasn't avoiding the bullets, the bullets avoided him! Didn't you noticed the bullet from Merle turned 90 degrees to hit Ben instead of The Gov? :P
