I know people were annoyed that his storyline was dragged out last season, but I'm sure Gimple can do a good job with him this season.

"Yeah, there's no "U" either. So I guess if I'm not on the team, and you're not on the team, nobody's on the God damn team. The team sucks!"

The Governor is just a character working out great in comics, but not well suited for a TV show. He was announced to be just as bad-ass as his comic counterpart, but in fact he seemed more like a season antagonist for "Dexter" than a TWD character.
I've read the comics, and I much prefer the Governor's TV counterpart. He seems more real and more dangerous than he was in the comics.

That being said, I'm excited for this. I voted yes.
Last season we were introduced to Phillip. This season I believe we will be seeing the true Governor.
I will lift her love and I'll break your spirit. I will dig a hole and I'll throw you in it.
Only time will tell if we're all just cynics on the run... If we're all just cynics come undone.

While I did not read the entire comics, I was reading a lot about the comics version of The Governor and I really expected a total maniacal psycho. In the TV show, he just didn't came over so dangerous and scary to me. Yes, The Governor was sadistic, he was a smooth talker and completely in charge at most situation ( e.g. he was in full control of the situation during his meeting with Rick despite having a gun pointed at him), he was sick for keeping the heads in the fish tanks and he was brutal seeing how he beat up and killed Milton and slaughtered his own army consisting of inexperienced civilians for disobeying him, but yet he seemed boring, just the kind of villain we have seen many times over. I hope he is a much stronger character the time we are going to see him now, although I hope he isn't around for too long.

me too. Everybody is saying how boring the who Governor/Woodbury thing was, and it was. But they don't realize that they can start fresh and correct all the mistakes they made last season with The Governor, and make it so much better and exciting. And I bet they all come back here a few weeks from now and praise the hell out of it, and say how amazing it is, smh just a bunch of bandwagoners.I felt that The Governor wasn't handled that well last season but I have faith that his return will be something of epic proportions. The new show runner is an enormous fan of the comics so I think that he will do a character as big as him some justice. I believe in Scott Gimple!

Imagine a group of a hundred motorcycles driving down a freeway. Eventually, they hit a junction. One road goes northwest and the other goes northeast. So one guy, we'll call him S, says, "Let's go northwest!" A mile past the intersection, a semi careens into the group and kills ninety of them. Ten are wounded, but they survive and keep going. Eventually, they hit 10,000 miles. S suddenly has his consciousness thrown into his past body right before the junction. Now, he says, "Let's go northeast!" All 100 bikers survive. Happily ever after, right? But what about the ten, no nine, who went northwest and survived? What happens to the reality they were living? Does it just disappear now that S has changed the past? It's not like only bad things happened on that 10,000 mile journey. Maybe one of them fell in love with a gas station attendant and got her pregnant or maybe one adopted a homeless kid that joined the adventure. That 10,000 mile journey would be full of stories. Romances, farewells, friendships...the loss of those ninety lives is horrible and unfortunate, but what would rewriting their history mean? The nine who survived lived full lives and did the best they could with the hand they were dealt. How could it be right to just erase all that? Isn't that worth something? Is there a point to a world where everything is happy? Are people who struggle for a better life just idiots? Being human is about fighting even when it seems hopeless and finding happiness in a world that hates it. Are you saying that's worthless?

Real? Sure, but he's still a cartoony douche. Dangerous? Absolutely not, by any stretch of the imaginationI've read the comics, and I much prefer the Governor's TV counterpart. He seems more real and more dangerous than he was in the comics.

If a guy takes out an organised group of soldiers with ease, and then later murders his own people because he's a little peeved off, yes, I will consider him to be dangerous.

out manned so he might need to think about this again.....especially if he only has his 2 thugs still?
It was good against andrea/ soldiers who should have been more alert/ and some stupid WB people waiting for the next picnic but he was no match for Rick and Company

True, but many of his good soldiers had died by the time he fought Rick's group. The one's he used to attack the prison were just some random people.
Still though, he gunned down his own people. I definitely wouldn't trust him if I were in that situation.

If they take away his Supervillain-esque aura and veer him more into the ruthless maniac from the comics, I will be happy about his return. If they continue with the whole walking into open fields of bullets and magically avoiding them I'll be pissed.
He wasn't avoiding the bullets, the bullets avoided him! Didn't you noticed the bullet from Merle turned 90 degrees to hit Ben instead of The Gov?
