Season 4 has been around long enough now to warrant this thread, I think.

If you remember my season 3 edition of this thread, you'll know what the idea is.

If you could revive one character, which character would it be?

If you could safeguard one character, so that they'll never die, who would it be?

If you revive a character, they're obviously not dead anymore. However, they could still die in a future episode, so you can always revive and safeguard the same character.

As for me, I'd revive Axel. So much wasted potential there... It's such a pity considering comic Axel was around for much longer.

For safeguarding, I'm not sure whether I want to safeguard Abraham (My favourite character from the comics) or my sexy waifu Sasha.

I think I'll go with Abraham, because if Sasha dies I can always look at pictures of her online to make me feel happy. (And a little bit aroused)

Anyways, begin with the posting in three, two, one... GO!!!

If I could revive a character, I would choose Hershel, for he was like a mentor and father for the whole group. However, I cannot see him limping around in the wilderness after the prison fell, and he seemed to have taught Rick in his morality as evidenced in "Too Far Gone" . If I could safeguard one character, I would choose Beth. Not because I like her singing, but she seems to be the only member of the group that retain some innocence, she seems to be the only female on the show that doesn't act like being tough and strong like all other female characters (Maggie, Michonne, Sasha, Carol, Tara, Rosita). I am aware that that could make Beth too weak to survive in a ZA, and the odds are against her survival, but somehow I hope she survives anyway. But then she need to be a little smarter than she was in last episode, risking her life for having a little booze.

Revive:

Milton.   There's no other character on the show like him.   A vulnerable, sheltered man who never had to deal with "surviving" like the rest.   I think Milton's growth into being a valuable member of the Prison group (after switching sides, of course) would be an interesting arc.   He would be Eugene without the smartass-ness and mullet.

Safeguard:

Tara.   She has been sheltered with her sister, niece, and dad since the beginning of the ZA until the Governor came around.   Now, for the first time, she is having to use her (somewhat rudimentary) police skills to survive.   She brings a fresh perspective to what everyone else has been facing daily.    Remember, in TWD time, she just learned a couple weeks ago that the walkers had to be shot in the head!

Revive Shane. Without Lori in the picture I think he and Rick could co-exist and be buddies again. Shane was a big part of the show's success for two seasons.

Safeguard Rosita. Christian Serratos is a fine woman.

Definitely safeguard Beth. I like it that she's kept most of her innocence in such a cruel world she lives in. I feel like she deserves to be safeguarded because it's so rare to find people like her still alive up to this point of the apocalypse. And she is cute

Revive Merle I guess. He was funny, and I like all the conflict that he brings just by being around.

Revive- T-dog. I dunno, kinda miss havin him around lol

Safeguard-uhhh Bob I guess. I have a feeling he's gonna bite it soon, but  I feel like that'd be a waste of a character and a good actor.

Hah, yeah. Merle just has to stand in the room and everyone gets pissed off! I wish he hadn't died.

I vote to revive Milton. I wanted to know more about him and his past. The prison group needs a smart guy. They have everything except a smart guy!

And I vote to safeguard Maggie. I've grown fond of her character.

Revive Merle.  He amused me. And he would have been useful. He always left me wanting more...more backstory, more insight into his motives etc.   Given time he could have evolved a bit.  I wouldn't want him completely domesticated though.

Safeguard Carl.  Now that everyone can see what a true psychopath is (I'm looking at you Lizzie!), I hope to win more over to my "Carl is actually pretty well adjusted for a ZA teen survivor" viewpoint.  I want to see what the new normal is for a kid growing up in this mess.

I would revive.. hmm I'm torn between T-Dog and Milton.. I'm going to go with Milton. I think cause I see so much of myself in how shut in he is. And I would like to think I have the strength he did to go against Phillip The Cyclops. He could have added so much to the show with his intellect and I would have loved to watch him grow. A Walker Scholar would have been nice to

Safeguard... Lizzie. Eventually her bat shittyness is gonna be found out, and if they take her in the direction it looks like I want her around to be a source of tension in the group.

Revive Shane. Without Lori in the picture I think he and Rick could co-exist and be buddies again. Shane was a big part of the show's success for two seasons.

So, is this Shane, not trying to kill Rick, and he makes it to the prison, Lori dies and leaves Judith, still getting along buddies/number 2 man Shane? That kinda Shane?

Be interesting.

I'm also in the Milton revival camp. He could in later episodes be shown as the "narrator" of Rick's story at the end of the show.

Revive: It's a toss up between Andrea and Merle.

I'd love to see Andrea back, if they could give us comic book Andrea instead of the mess that we got in season three. It's such a shame, because in those few episodes where she was allowed to shine, Laurie Holden showed that she was perfectly capable of portraying the comic book version of Andrea.

I also love Merle and think Michael Rooker rocks. So much potential was wasted by killing him off, and we didn't even get to see how his death affected Daryl. It was just glossed over. I miss rowdy, unruly Merle and all the trouble and tension he could cause. I always thought there was some decency lurking under the surface and was intrigued to see Merle at war with his own conscience as well as everyone around him.

Safeguard: It's a toss up between Judith and Lizzie's sister.

With Lizzie around, those kids could use all the safeguarding they can get.
