If You Were In Kirkman's Place...

So, if you were Kirkman, how would you continue the story after Negan's death?

 

If I were Kirkman, I would introduce a female character and a member of her family (brother/sister) made her part of Rick's group, a helpful character... Until, her brother/sister goes out with Rick for supplies and gets killed. Then the female character gets angry at Rick for lrtting her sibiling get killed and leaves the group. We don't see her for some time (10-13 issues) then she re-appears with a new group to "eliminate" Rick's one. She attacks once and ther diappears for 5 or 6 issues. Then she attacks again and Maggie after she gives birth to the newborn baby. Then after some issues Sophia kills her for killing her last family mamber.

 

I don't know... Ideas?

If I were trollman, I'd kill everyone, take my fatass bank account and go live on the beach.

If I was Kirkman I'd kill a lot of characters and I'd go on the road again with a smaller group.

-Maybe loose a character that you bring back in 80-100 issues like Michonne, when we will have all forget about her.

-I'd bring back shiva for one issue. She'd be hungry and eat someone important to Rick's group like Andrea. Rick would loose it and kill that stupid tiger. Ezekiel would cry for days and Carl could kill that ball-less character for killing his step-mom.

-I'd keep : Maggie, Olivia, Dwight and the blacksmith. With Rick and Carl. And i'd Kill everyone else. Then make Olivia die feom something stupid like eating poisonous berries or get crazy by eating magic mushrooms.

-I'd add Tara from the show and show her naked a LOT.

-Negan would end up zombified. And I'd let him roam and rot around till the end of time.

-Someone should also get his thongue cut. Would be funny to see someone who cant speak in a zombie apocalypse.

Negan would kill Rick and take over Alexandria and the rest of TWD would just be Negan being a boss. Genius

No tongues were cut out but definitely doesn't have the ability to speak.

Negan wouldn't die, rather be badly injured and escapes, even if you don't see him for 100 more issues, the threat of Negan possibly coming back especially after all the chaos hes cause would be excited for the readers and terrifying for the characters.

I have to disagree. If Kirkman were to make Negan escape, it would be like when the show had the Governor disappear at the end of Season 3 and then shows up later in Season 4. I don't want a re-hash of that. I don't think it would work out.

I would not bring in a baddie right after negan....they wouldn't have the time to deal with it. Rick and co would lose. Also I hate the idea of having a fight and having someone survive, leave, then come back to fight another war. The world is cruel enough trying to survive if I were in an apocalypse and barely surviving the last thing I want to do is join a group and possibly get killed because someone is hellbent on revenge. It wouldn't be worth it.


Now. I wouldn't mind rick going on the road again.If he were to find survivors and they mention they have a large camp anywhere from a week or so away and they want to trade and or help rick rebuild that would be cool....however when rick and some people go with them they hit a horde and people scatter. Trying to fight and survive could take days or weeks and trying to make it back would be rough.

The story needs some space between big bads. For practical reasons, Team Rick needs some time to rebuild. Just like in the game of Risk, if two armies brawl and bleed each other out for too much time, that allows a 3rd, less injured party to come in and conquer. I suspect we may see something like this play out in the next arc. For narrative reasons, audience needs a little release of tension. It can't be all ragnarok all the time.

Also, there's a Walking Dead RISK board game. I'm a fan of both WD and Risk, looks awesome.

 

It sucks they did it with the governor in the show, but the comic is its own thing and I don't see it as a rehash. Plus to me the show screwed up the governor (with the exception of his final episode), so id like to see it done properly by Kirkman in the comic, with Negan slinking away alive.
