when there's food literally a foot away from them, food that they were after seconds before, it kinda is

As Farswell stated, we've seen time and time again, that walkers are easily distracted and usually the bigger the stimulus, the more it attracts them. They also have a gang mentality, where it seems that they play "follow the walker" when something gets their attention they all follow.

Shane and Otis threw flares back in S2 to distract them.

This episode was really damn good. I can look over the usual things that might bother me, because Tyreese's group alone had me riveted.

The difference being (unless I'm remembering incorrectly) the walkers hadn't seen Otis or Shane yet when they used the flares

^^^^^ Agree KidSeventySeven. Tyreese/Lizzie/Mika/Carol segment was the most riveting for me.

The way Carol was reintroduced was SO contrived but I can look past that.

I don't know what it is with me always getting attached to the most obscure characters (cough cough Olivia), but I really like Mika and want her to survive. Though I'm not holding my breathe.

Judith being alive will add an interesting element to the show that we didn't get to see past the prison in the comics. A lot of people are against a baby being on the show, but hopefully they handle it right because I think it could be interesting.

I thought that Lizzie was gonna smother Judy. :o

Seriously if you have read the comics it is all too predictable what is gonna happen here.

So after two episodes, we have now narrowed this down to 5 groups.
Group 1:
Rick, Carl, Michonne

Group 2:
Daryll, Beth

Group 3:
Tyreese, Carol, Judith, and the two girls (I thought it was funny how rock said to Carol "I don't want you to be around trying to raise Judith." And then Carol was carrying Judith. She saved Judith's life.)

Group 4:
Maggie
Bob
Sasha

Group 5:
Tara
Glenn
Abraham and his crew

Now that we have our 5, which group seems to be in the best situation? If you knew nothing about what could potentially happen in future episodes and based it solely off the past two, what group has the best chance at survival? My pick is actually group 3.

I was really upset the show didn't go for it. That would be all anybody would be talking about after the episode. I knew it wouldn't happen, though, because it wasn't the end of the episode and AMC are very sensitive about this stuff

Imagine a group of a hundred motorcycles driving down a freeway. Eventually, they hit a junction. One road goes northwest and the other goes northeast. So one guy, we'll call him S, says, "Let's go northwest!" A mile past the intersection, a semi careens into the group and kills ninety of them. Ten are wounded, but they survive and keep going. Eventually, they hit 10,000 miles. S suddenly has his consciousness thrown into his past body right before the junction. Now, he says, "Let's go northeast!" All 100 bikers survive. Happily ever after, right? But what about the ten, no nine, who went northwest and survived? What happens to the reality they were living? Does it just disappear now that S has changed the past? It's not like only bad things happened on that 10,000 mile journey. Maybe one of them fell in love with a gas station attendant and got her pregnant or maybe one adopted a homeless kid that joined the adventure. That 10,000 mile journey would be full of stories. Romances, farewells, friendships...the loss of those ninety lives is horrible and unfortunate, but what would rewriting their history mean? The nine who survived lived full lives and did the best they could with the hand they were dealt. How could it be right to just erase all that? Isn't that worth something? Is there a point to a world where everything is happy? Are people who struggle for a better life just idiots? Being human is about fighting even when it seems hopeless and finding happiness in a world that hates it. Are you saying that's worthless?

that and it would have been the silliest thing the show has done in a while.

So Lilly died? I'm kind of disappointed. Not that she's dead, but that we just "hear" that she died. Have they ever killed a character with lines off camera before?

I was a little confused about the ending? I don't know if I missed it but the people at the end were new characters, and if taras leaves the prison with glen then why does she ask if they "enjoyed the show?" how would she know them and that they were there?

so confused? :(

I really enjoyed this episode though. I really like when they take characters and put them with other characters that they're not generally with.

I didnt like how they introduced carol. I mean, she literally appears out of nowhere?

They drove up in the middle of the attack and then didn't help. They just watched. So she asked if they, "enjoyed the show, assholes?" because they were acting as people enjoying a show and being assholes

I have so many thoughts about tonight's episode, but I just have to get one huge gripe off my chest... how could they NOT have a preplanned rendezvous point?!?! There are so many ways they could have explored these exact same scenarios while STILL having a preplanned rendezvous point. Maybe one group ran into a herd and couldn't get there (Daryl/Beth), maybe one group had injured people and needed to hold up somewhere first (Rick/Carl), maybe the rendezvous point was Woodbury town hall which was burned down and unsafe to wait at (Tyrese/Kids), maybe one group met up with a different group before getting to the rendezvous point (Glen/Tara), etc. I could have accepted any stupid explanation for why they couldn't find each other at a preplanned rendezvous point, but I hate that, once again, we're being asked to accept complete stupidity by the characters for not having a plan.

I am more in love with Lizzie than ever before. I want that little psychopath to outlive everyone. I hope she "Carols" baby Judith soon... ya know, for the safety of the group. (But after one "death scare", I think Judith will have a long Walking Dead life now.) And what's wrong with killing bunnies? Daryl kills defenseless little squirrels.

Daryl/Beth was almost painful to watch in its predictability and lack of development of story or character. Imagine how much more believable or effective her diary entry or burning of the pages would have been if we had ever seen her once writing in a diary in the past two seasons.

I found Glen's segment the most interesting. I don't know anything about Abraham and his group except from what I've read online, but I'm just happy we have new characters again.

Lol. The survivors on this show never plan ahead and get fucked over because of it so I'd say the characters are acting pretty consistent

The scene with the dying man on the train tracks was just a struggle to watch. He tells Tyreese and the gang to follow the tracks and then they're all just like:

"Alright then. We'll uh...be going now. Good luck with your bite and dead friends and family..." *slowly walks away* "Also, if you don't mind, we're never going to mention you again. Not even the little girls in our group. You'll ostensibly not exist to us anymore. So uh...lates!"

Daryl kills defenseless little squirrels for food, not for sport. If Lizzie had handed them to Tyreese,  so they could roast them over a fire, I wouldn't have a problem with her killing them. However, she killed them just because she is fascinated with death.

Poor Tyreese! Not only is he alone with the children, but one of them is the psychopath.
