This issue has totally confirmed Eugene as my favourite character in the current cast who we haven't been with since the very beginning; the guy rejected Negan like a total boss. I really hope he doesn't die or get his dick cut off.

You know, Eugene might be my absolute favorite living character. I feel like Kirkman relies too much on Rick/Carl/Michonne/Andrea to carry an issue. Whenever I see Eugene in an issue, I get happy. I'm attached to our lovable bullet maker (and his mullet)

Imagine a group of a hundred motorcycles driving down a freeway. Eventually, they hit a junction. One road goes northwest and the other goes northeast. So one guy, we'll call him S, says, "Let's go northwest!" A mile past the intersection, a semi careens into the group and kills ninety of them. Ten are wounded, but they survive and keep going. Eventually, they hit 10,000 miles. S suddenly has his consciousness thrown into his past body right before the junction. Now, he says, "Let's go northeast!" All 100 bikers survive. Happily ever after, right? But what about the ten, no nine, who went northwest and survived? What happens to the reality they were living? Does it just disappear now that S has changed the past? It's not like only bad things happened on that 10,000 mile journey. Maybe one of them fell in love with a gas station attendant and got her pregnant or maybe one adopted a homeless kid that joined the adventure. That 10,000 mile journey would be full of stories. Romances, farewells, friendships...the loss of those ninety lives is horrible and unfortunate, but what would rewriting their history mean? The nine who survived lived full lives and did the best they could with the hand they were dealt. How could it be right to just erase all that? Isn't that worth something? Is there a point to a world where everything is happy? Are people who struggle for a better life just idiots? Being human is about fighting even when it seems hopeless and finding happiness in a world that hates it. Are you saying that's worthless?

Eugene will bite his own dick off before Negan can get to it.

"You can't have none o' these!"

Eugene's genitals will go out like a badasses.

Jesus in shortshortshorts. I can dig it.

Only thing I don't like is how ridiculously fast Heath got better. Denise patched him up and voila, he can stand up like he lost his leg weeks ago.

THIS^^^

I actually am enjoying the pathos here. It's a nice break. Heath would be in mega agony - As the recipient of two Titanium Hips- having your femur severed FUCKING HURTS -

Eugene's loyalty is impressive (and he doesn't know about Holly) and another reference to Rick's "Master Plan" WTF? Rick Grimes for President.

I am intrigued by the "Whimp" comment too. Was that Negan I heard?... Looks like Zeke is a Paper Tiger. The dude is "shot out". The Hilltop has always been the most strategically advantageous location. I like the migration idea.

I wonder who the cute chick with Eugene was that kind of looked a lot like Maggie, but with an 80's style flipped up brim baseball cap. I bet she likes the Beastie Boys.

You know for a minute I thought that he was already working for Negan- I thought that chick was the one that helped capture Jesus when he followed Dwight.

I don't need to see Jesus in shorts, but I wouldn't complain about a shirtless Jesus.

......

I cant process what you just said.

WHO WOULDN'T WANT JESUS IN SHORTSHORTS, DOING SICK KUNG-FU MOVES?

GRACIE, cher.gif

 YOU AREN'T MAKING SENSE.

I can process the second part however, and i agree.

And whilst we dont have ''shirt-less'' Jesus yet, we do still have ''bare chest'' Jesus

And it is always an appreciated sight to behold.

2 things really bug me about this issue...Heath and his miraculous recovery and that John guy insisting on pissing outside. Andrea is still beat up after her Savior encounter in the tower in 113 but Heath is pretty much okay an hour after having his leg blown off. And John was just a silly and contrived means to have Negan find the Euge. I mean, two years into a zombie apocalypse and this John is still sauntering outside to piss in the bushes? It might be the most ridiculous thing to ever occur in the Walking Dead universe.

Yeah, john couldn't hold it in for another 10 minutes? I guess he really had to USE THE JOHN...

Anyways, good, not great issue. Awesome points to Eugene, he not only fucked negans request verbally, I noticed he also was surprisingly brave for his character when he was trying to close the door and clear the zombies.
Heaths leg, blah blah blah. Controversy Already mentioned.

That look Carson gave Dwight at the end was significant.I feel they have Eugene's back. The mullet is safe.

Good issue. 7.5/10

Nicholas needs more lines. I feel like he has potential. Paula and Mikey should've died to give him more development. And I agree with everyone else who mentioned it, WTF is up with Heath sitting beside Denise's bedside after only an hour. You'd think he'd still be passed out or in extreme pain and agony. Despite Heath's miraculous recovery, Kirkman semi made up for it with his speech to Denise.

And yes, we need more Eugene! Eugene is currently my 2nd favourite character alive in the story right now. I'm glad he's faithful to Rick and I liked how he turned down Negan's offer. Like JM said, Rick/Carl/Andrea and Michonne don't need to carry an issue all the time. Glad to see more Eugene screen time. Others like Nicholas/Aaron/Heath/Olivia all have potential and can carry an issue as well, I mean who else liked the coup storyline by Nicholas in Volume 15? I thought it was interesting. The Alexandrians all have potential. Freaking utilize them more Kirkman!

And man I never hated Ezekiel more then I do. What is up with this guy? Seriously he has become my least favourite living character a lot quicker then other then any other character and thats saying something. I hope he dies before AOW is over.

Anyways, good issue, can't wait until the next.

Good issue. The event with Eugene makes sense to me, and many historical events have unfolded in similar ways. Quite a few predicted it would happen like that, and it did. Obviously I was wrong about Denise...but she did live...until she died.

I am wondering about the look Dwight gave; some think it was a mutual understanding look, but I am not sure. The eyes of both did not meet, from what I can see. Given Dwight's position behind Rick in the next few issues forward, he obviously somehow gets away if the cover is honest. Only way I see that happening is for him to release Eugene and officially change sides. Of course, it also makes his insider position worthless.

I was thinking about what Eugene could do, and I am thinking pretending to work for Negan may open an opportunity. He is working with bullets, which involves nitrocellulose (smokeless gunpowder) and everything else like lead and primers. Easy to build a bomb out of the powder, and take out the entire Savior's base too. Eugene isn't stupid. Guess we will see.

If Eugene seriously dies because of this I'm gonna be majorly pissed. Come on Kirkman, wasn't it enough that you killed Abe? Now you have to take away one of my other all-time favorite characters so soon after?

Pretty good issue though overall (taking out of account some pretty annoying continuity errors). I was surprised by how well done Denise's send-off was.

I'm going to have to disagree with everyone about Ezekiel; yes, he is being a whiny bitch at the moment, but I like that Kirkman is actually doing something with him. I find him a lot more interesting the way he is than I would if he was really was the badass king he presented himself as, and think he has a lot of potential.

And it's not like Rick hasn't gone through a few phases similar to what Ezekiel's currently going through before.

True. Additionally I think people need to remember that Ezekiel only started being a whiny bitch at the end of what, 118? And it's only 3 issues later. While it's been several weeks for us readers, barely a day in comic time has passed between Zeke telling Michonne he fucked up and got most of his soldiers AND Shiva killed and the current issue. I think people need to ask themselves, would they get over losing their dearest friend/companion and a shit fuck ton of your people in the span of what a day? People that trusted you and your leadership in the community you created? Maybe if you're a sociopath like Negan. Sure it's 2 years into the ZA, but I think it shows he still has his humanity and while the whining about it is annoying, I think we need to remember this. I feel like Zeke will have a more important role to play in the coming issues.

Also has anybody noticed that it's clearly not winter anymore when right before the Saviors were introduced and even up until AOW it was snowing and now people are wearing t-shirts, tanktops and in somecases shorts? I mean I know the D.C. area doesn't usually get super cold, but it doesn't seem like so much time has gone by. Like wasn't it around January-ish before this whole thing started?

I'd even be willing to say it should Still be snowing there. I'm in eastern Kentucky (proud to share a home state with RK) and you'd think it's the North Pole. We've had single digit temperatures and snow since November basically. Even if we weren't dealing with an extended winter. This area doesn't get shirt/shorts weather until like early March. I imagine the same or even longer for DC given it's usually colder there than it is here. Surely winter hasn't come and gone this fast in TWD universe.

Ezekiel needs to pay a visit to Dr. Yum's gynecologist office. With every issue I dislike him more and more. Oh, boo hoo. Michonne, you could do so much better. Hint hint, Jesus.

Lol, I agree on Zeke's cowardice.. as to Michonne - I think she only digs black guys.  The only person I could see breaking the color barrier w/ her would be Rick.

I can't really see it - as much as Michonne likes and trusts Rick, I don't see her ever developing feelings for him. They've got a great relationship, but it's purely platonic.

Not to mention Andrea would totally shoot her if she were to ever try anything.
