How the hell did the Guv get someone in the guard tower?

At the beginning of the episode when Rick went outside, he took all the gate locks off. It would have been relatively simple for a single person to sneak in. Don't forget these guys ambushed the National Guard, so they have some skills.

I thought Michonne closed at least one of the gates behind him, though.

They could have easily cut the fence in some spot and crept in when Glenn was making his "plan" to get into Woodbury. No one was on watch, remember? Rick was off looking for his buddy Shane.

Of course, looking back, it was going to be Axel. They finally gave him a personality, made everybody think that he might be ok, then BAM!!

I liked "Home" better than last weeks. I didn't wait 3 months for 5 minutes of Woodbury conflict.

I was waiting and waiting, knowing something was going to go bad. Then waiting and waitng for "the moment". There it was, Daryl's arrow.

I do not like crazy Rick. Between the walkers and the Gov, he's got enough going on, they don't have to make him crazy.

Lastly, I want Rick to beat the Governor's butt so bad. Don't shoot him. Beat him down till he looks like Dale's guts after he was torn open.

I acknowledge that I can be sadistic when it comes to make believe tv/comic characters.

Yeah, they should have has someone on watch in the Guard tower ever since they got back from Woodbury.

Yeah, not only that but Michonne should have seen someone sneak in, as well.
They should have had someone in the guard tower ever since they returned from Woodbury. Glenn did mention it but didn't follow through,

Holy shit, this episode was awesome.
It started rather slow, I couldn't care less about Lori's ghost on the last episode so I was a bit dissapointed when she showed up again today.
Last week I didn't know why Glenn was mad at Maggie, this time I don't get why she is mad at him. Why is it so bad that her boyfriend wanted to know what happened to her?

Those last 15minutes were great! A part of me is happy they didn't just headshot everybody with one bullet, but another part of me is now worried for the survival of this group lol.
The only training they've had was with walkers and now they can't really shoot people, but at least they know how to protect themselves.
At least Rick should have hit his target, he was a cop so I guess he was used to being in gun fights.

The scene when Rick was cornered by those 2 walkers was pretty cool. I knew Rick was not going to die so I wasn't worried for him, but I didn't expect the Dixons to show up the way they did, that was epic.

And Im happy Daryl is back, now Rick can lay low and get some rest, hopefully come back from crazytown.

Really good episode.

I reeeeeeaalllllyyy want to see who drove the walkers in. There were maybe 1-2 screen shots of this person as they ran by Michonne, but nowhere to be found after. Could it be Milton or Karen? Once Andrea asked Milton about the Guv, we didn't see the timing or what happened so maybe one of them were able to get in that van and drive it over to the prison. I hope we find out who it is soon!

I think it would have helped Hershel understand if Rick had said this instead:

"I'm doing stuff, Hershel. THINGS."

He wasn't far off, though. ;)

How the hell did the Guv get someone in the guard tower?

I'm thinking he might have gotten someone up in the tower around the time Glenn was asking "Who's on watch?" Or maybe he's a wizard as well as part of the Pirate Trinity... :smiley-confused002:

why did the governor back off? they weren't hardly fighting back, it was like they just went there to mess with them a bit. they could ha've done more damage, unleashing several zombies into a fenced off courtyard...come on. I did like that axel died, I only wish they would develop these red shirts a little mire before they die. it seems like they give them dialog and later that episode they are killed.

Although Michonne was out there as was Hershel and Rick (although crazytown wasn't much help this episode). I'm thinking its more likely that whoever was in the guard tower sneaked through one of the openings that Glenn was talking about securing earlier. It's more believable they got in that way and managed to sneak past them once they were on the inside then to come from the outside and just waltz right up to the tower, past two gates, in the open.

Very good balance between character development and action, this and the previous episode. This is what Season 3 should of been in the first place.

The Guv lost an eye but gained really good hearing, I think its the second time hes heard a walker lurking right behinde him.

Finaly saw Michonne slice into some heads where the brain is located rather than just decapitations and leave ankle biters.

Glad Daryl isnt under Merles thumb and can make his own decisions. Merle seeing that his father took out beatings on Daryl after Merle skipped out probably helps Merle see Daryls side of things.

HOLY SHIT.

Now that I've got that out of the way...

Wasn't there a girl on guard at Woodbury they showed at the beginning? Or something like that...I'll probably correct that when I watch it again.

There was. Andrea referred to her as Karen, I believe. However both Martinez and the Gov were gone by the time Andrea asked her where they went. Of course she could have met up with them later as the van of walkers came at the end of the shootout. However if it was her it was poor foreshadowing on the writers part as they made it seem like they were already long gone. Although ignoring that it would make sense if it was her because she is the only other woman besides Haley (who's dead) and Andrea (who's clueless) who have been seen as part of the guard t Woodbury. I wonder if this is the same woman who gave Andrea the tour in the beginning of the season. Although that chick seemed pretty sheltered and wide-eyed when it came to the Gov, Karen did not, but who knows.

Awful, awful episode. I guess the best thing I can say about it is that it's just continuing to make the same mistakes as always.

The Governor seems to be the type to 'play with his food' so to speak. He gets a kick out of torturing; out of messing with them psychologically before getting to the ends that he wants. The way I took it: they ambushed them enough to throw them off guard and were likely hoping they'd kill a few of them in the shootout. The walkers inside the courtyard would finish off whoever was left over. Also, it was probably to send a message to them to let them know who they've f*cked with.

Ah, that was her name, thanks! They showed her for a reason and she's the only other woman besides Andrea that has taken up arms and guards the town so I can't see who else it could be... I also thought that the Governor had to be gone a while by the time we saw the interaction between Karen and Andrea. Unless the point is to keep us in the dark when a 'random' survivor shows up at the prison. It would leave us questioning if she's a scout from Woodbury or not.

Happy that Axel bit it, I knew he wasn't long for that world. He had the spine of a jellyfish.

Incredible episode, overall.

A few qualms, in no particular order.

1) I love how the discussion between Daryl and Merle re: returning to the prison goes nowhere. Merle points out that they can't go back because they'll never let him in. This makes total and complete sense. Daryl has no answer for that but just keeps arguing for it, because nobody could think up more sensical dialogue.

2) There is literally no reason for Maggie to be upset at Glenn other than that the writers think it adds some sort of dramatic tension. What, is Glenn going to go in there, talk to her, get the answers he needs and walk away satisfied? Fuck that, we can't film that. Have her push him away.

3) Is Daryl Merle's little brother? I can't tell, it isn't mentioned quite enough.

I agree they showed her for a reason. That's why I mentioned it was poor foreshadowing on their part if it was supposed to be her, didn't add up together all that well. I dunno if they would have her scout for Woodbury. It's true her face was covered by a helmet, not like people would have gotten a good look at her anyway while ducking for cover. I guess we just have to wait and see if that gets explained more. Although I too don't know who else it could have been.

I think the driverof the zombie moving van was Milton. The Gov asked him before that if he would take a bullet for him, then when Andrea was asking him where the Gov was, he was kinda distracted by looking at his watch, like he was on a time limit. That would be why the Gov was so happy to see him show up, Milton stepped up. I did think it was a woman the first time around though, second viewing changed my mind.

Daryl, my love, Daryl....so glad he realized what he is and what Merle is. Merle is up a ctrl though, no one wants him now. And if you notice, he always steps back and watches the action before doing anything. Then when he does, he makes abig deal of it, very showy.

Glenn needs to get his shit together. He bitches cuz Rick is all crazy, but he's just as reckless at this point.

Damn, Team.Prison is one hell of a bad shot! Gov didn't even flinch, thats probably why Maggie took out Haley, only person she could hit.

Poor Axel....

Actually there is a reason for Maggie to be mad at Glenn. He's acting like a dick. Ever since they escaped Woodbury he's been on 10. Dude can't see straight. He's obsessed with what happened to her. She told him before that the Gov. didn't rape her yet he kept pushing the issue. When they were on the road back he kept inferring to Rick and Daryl that the Gov. had to pay for what he did to Maggie. I don't think she likes how he's using her as an excuse to go off the handle. Granted Rick's going crazy but Glenn is blinded by rage. It's irritating. If I was in Maggie's position I wouldn't want someone constantly throwing that in my face either. It's annoying as hell.
