From Maggie's perspective, Beth is most likely dead.  At best, she's lost out there with no possible way to find her... but she's probably dead.  There's just no way to know for sure.

Glenn, in comparison, was on the bus--- she had a lead on his last location.  When his body wasn't found on the bus, it gave her that ray of hope that she probably completely lost after the prison fell.  She had reason to believe that he was alive and to continue her search for him.

I believe when Maggie's "tunnel vision" took over, she blocked out all of the atrocities that happened at the prison.  Her father's death, as well as her sister and all the others probably being dead, would be such a heavy, difficult thing to handle.  I can believe that she was blocking that out best she can until she could find Glenn.

What it comes down to is that Maggie had reason to believe Glenn survived and that was what gave her a reason to keep going.  Now that she's accomplished that goal, I'd have no doubt that the weight of the horrors she's been blocking out will start to come crashing down on her.

People grieve in different ways.

I also wouldn't be surprised if there were a cut scene or two with Maggie talking about Beth and Hershel, or Tyreese about Sasha, etc. but could have been deleted for time.  I feel like actors and producers are always talking about all kinds of scenes that get cut, and most of the time it's probably dialogue.

I would of thought this would be something you assumed happened off camera if the first statement wasn't enough for folk. .

I've also seen it all over forums and social media. It's weird Maggie seems to be the one picked out.

Has Carol asked Ty about Daryl?. Ty asking about Sasha, Rick asking about Daryl, Anyone else asking anyone else about anybody with the purpose of finding them??.

Seems strange it falls on Glenn/Maggie to be the finders gatherers of this group. On forums and such..

Especially considering how much we read about all these so called tight bonds between people in the show, which are usually just supposition and fair enough. But the first time those bonds are called into play when they part, it's 1 of the only 2 who bother too try and find another that ends up getting the stick and threads made about them.

It's weird.

We were forced to watch Rick grieve over Lori for what...most of a season? All of his behaviors were chalked up to "oh he's so devastated by his loss". And that was fine. Very feasible scenario. But now we are being asked to believe the opposite. I know the two scenarios are not exactly the same but my personal assumption has been that most of these groups think the others are dead. Or permanently missing. And nobody seems to care! After reading some comments here, I guess I was supposed to assume the reason they are all heading to terminus is to reunite. I think Sasha is the only person who ever said that. If the writers wanted me to think they all had hopes of finding one another in terminus, it was completely lost on me.

If I'd made that escape and encountered someone else who fled the prison, my first question would be "Did you see if (whoever) got out?"

Ty had no reason to question Carol because she wasn't at the prison.

Rick and Carl escaped together.

Daryl and Beth were together.

Didn't Maggie meet up with Bob and Sasha?  She was the only one who demanded the question be asked.

Granted, they all had different sight-lines during the fight, but still might have questioned one another about those they saw die or flee.

It's definitely a sticking point in the story.

I agree that real human beings would be asking everyone they met if they had seen their loved ones. Not just Maggie, but all of them. Why would anyone assume that they were the only survivors?

It's either just poor writing, or the writers are so focused on the story they are telling that they neglected or didn't have time in a forty-two minute episode to put that stuff in, which is the same thing.

But I am more interested in the story than these little things so I don't care.

Carol was at the prison at the end though - she saw the ending, she saw Tyreese and the girls flee. She just lost them and couldn't catch up for a day or so. Although the way she said, "You can't go back to a graveyard," I'm guessing she didn't really see anyone moving about at the point that she was there and looking.

No wonder she wasn't worried about the two bit lush. I bet she would be cracking open the champagne if she had such a bottle after escaping from her misery.

In all seriousness though, at the beginning Maggie felt focused on finding Glenn. She knew where Glenn went, she didn't know where Beth went. Once she realised Glenn had escaped, she would probably assume if Glenn was alive Beth would be with him, and as such focused her time and energy on finding him. Remember, Glenn was pretty ill and Beth is extremely helpless. If Glenn could make it, so could Beth.

Once she found Glenn, the scenes of her asking about Beth probably occurred off Camara because it's just not that important. Remember, she was still wanting to go to Terminus so with the same reasoning about Glenn, she would feel that if Beth survived she would travel there.

However, her reasoning would obviously be changed after they got captured by the Termites. It was probably here that Maggie realised that Beth would be dead, and there would be no way to look for her if they did escape. Daryl could give her evidence sure, but where are they going to start looking? If somebody captured her, I can only assume that Maggie would realise she's dead, because the last time her relative got captured he got his head decapitated, not to mention her experiences in season3.

As for the messages regarding only Glenn, what would be the point in writing out more names? I doubt it was very pleasant job actually digging through the stomach and painting it out, so I don't see why she would waste more time doing such a disgusting job just to paint four more letters. Plus she was probably scared off by walkers as well. If Beth came across it, she would get the gist of who it was. Honestly, how many couples does Beth know that are called "Glenn" and "Maggie".
