The Walking Dead's third season has been a huge success, with the premiere reigning as the most-watched basic cable drama telecast in broadcast history; 10.9 million viewers, with 7.3 million in the 18-49 demographic. Just the second episode drew in over 9.5 million total viewers.

FOX International delivered the show to 122 countries one week after the US debut. In places like Europe, Latin America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, the show is delivering almost the same amount of success. The international runs of The Walking Dead Season 3 has delivered 8.5 million pay-TV viewers, which is up 20 percent from The Walking Dead Season 2 debut.
